America can supply that oil to replace Russian exports...
From Sakhalin its easy, that is similar to Eagle Ford "crude" in that its really in the class referred to as condensate. The other exports are intermediate which we don't really have except from Alaska or Gulf of America, like we used to. The teapot refineries have been on the decline in China the last decade. A decade ago with a partner, we were meeting with Ventech in Houston (they went belly up after getting out of refining engineering and construction and 100% into GTL) when we were told about their visiting some Chinese teapot refineries for sale for relocation. Explosions waiting to happen in all of them, shoddy as could be. By teapot these very simple refineries take unfinished gasoline, diesel and/or kerosene cuts off the crude oil stream, like used to happen over 100 years ago, and sell the bottoms to real refineries.
The 2nd largest refinery in India is partially owned by Rosneft so I'm not sure how this will happen. This was one way European countries were getting around sanctions for refined products imported from India.

It is going to take Russia until past midway point of the 23rd Century to take all of the Ukraine.
*At the current rate
Eventually either Russia will not be able to sustain the current rate anymore, or Ukraine will not be able to stop Russia from rapidly advancing. If they don't come to some kind of agreement. And that is coming well before the 23rd century.

I stand by my statement that Pokrovsk or Myrnohrad are pretty unimportant.

A year ago it was way more valuable as a transportation hub to supply areas now occupied by Russia.

Ukraine’s air defenses down 623 drones and missiles out of 705 launched
30.10.2025 12:48
During the night of October 30, Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 623 drones and missiles out of 705 launched by Russia since the evening of October 29. There were direct hits from 16 missiles and 63 strike drones recorded at 20 locations.
According to Ukrinform, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
“During the night of October 30 (starting from 19:00 on October 29), the enemy carried out a combined strike on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure using strike UAVs and missiles launched from air-, land-, and sea-based platforms. In total, radar units of the Air Force detected and tracked 705 aerial targets — including 52 missiles (nine of them ballistic) and 653 drones of various types (around 400 of them Shaheds),” the statement said.
Specifically, the enemy used:
653 strike UAVs of Shahed, Gerbera and other types launched from Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea);
four Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles (from Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia);
five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles (from Rostov region, Russia);
eight Kalibr cruise missiles;
two Iskander-K cruise missiles (from Kursk and Voronezh regions, Russia);
30 Kh-101 cruise missiles (from Saratov region, Russia);
two Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles (from over the Black Sea);
one Kh-31P anti-radar air-launched missile (from over the Black Sea).
As of 11:30, preliminary data indicate that air defenses shot down or neutralized 623 aerial targets, including:
592 strike drones (Shahed, Gerbera, and others);
seven Kalibr cruise missiles;
one Iskander-K cruise missile;
21 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
two Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles.
At the same time, direct hits from 16 missiles and 63 strike drones were recorded at 20 locations, with debris from downed targets falling in 19 other locations across various regions of Ukraine.

This pretty much sums up this thread:
It's always the three boomer Bush/Cheney/Bolton neocons: General Bill that claims he ran away because he didn't have time to post because of work but now he is back to posting everyday. Maybe he is one of those g'ment employees that Trump kicked out. Citizenk and his boring stories about dead friends and lies about technology and their sidekick doubleb.
Their Ukraine flag waving leftist friends. The Jake Broe internet warrior type. Too many to post here but you leftists have your DU, Reddit safe space here in this thread.
Nutcases like Cope + about 2-3 more of this type
And
Propagandists like Bagdad Bob of Kiev
A delusional echo chamber that whines about any other opinion of their dreams of Ukrainian victory while being in total denial of reality.

Remember what the great Geopolitical genius General Bill told us about Syria and the Russians? That was before his mental breakdown and his high tailing.
He argued with me about it.
He is proven wrong again!!! He is as wrong as that MIC grifting Kamala backing Ben Hodges. What a clown!!
The Syrian president was in Moscow last week meeting with Putin.

It just never really made sense for us to be long-term bedfellows with the new regime there. Our value system is ultimately just not compatible.

They are going to try to be in a good position with everybody they can... like Armenia is trying to do, because who knows what might happen. Russia is not a reliable partner anymore, but they can still make trouble for these countries with hybrid warfare if they get on their bad side. It's a tightrope

Whoopee, yet the needed naval base isn't. A deal has already been made with Arab nations financing a commercial port there.
Russia still doesn't have a base to service its navy in the Med. They have to sail to the Baltic sea or around the top of Sweden to Archangel
A major issue for Russia

The airbase is desperately needed by Russia to ship to Africa as a stopping/refueling point.
The naval base is the much larger impact to Russia, without any base to service their navy, even simple but needed repairs outside of Russia. Hence the Russian sub limping back at the surface from the Med around Europe, instead of just gong to the former base in Syria.
