Been saying this for weeks. They are going to fight until the end. No Tomahawks or sanctions are going to end this. Z nor Putin aren't willing or able to budget one inch.

Which is insane that Vladimir Putin is willing to cause all of this death and destruction, just so they can have Ukraine again.

And they will never be able to keep it, even if they manage to get it...

Can't be... Trump just said Putin only hits the Ukrainian military targets... Putin told him so.

If Russia ever wants to rejoin the world community they will have to give it back. It's against international law to take land by force. The world community will never recognize it.

So one day Russia will want to go back to doing Russian things like;

Selling hydrocarbons to the EU
Having its citizens travel freely
The Olympics
The SWIFT system
Unfreeze $380 billion
Buy aircraft parts, computer chips, and dual purpose materials
Etc etc etc

The war was a reckless gamble that they could achieve regime chance in Ukraine and no one would care. But biting off the Donbas at the expense of 1 million dead? That's a shite deal and the world won't go for it.

One of these days Putin will be gone. And the new Russian government will want to rejoin the world community. Keeping Ukraine isn't worth all this.

So they'll eventually give it back.

Ukrainians. There will be an endless insurgency.

People seem to go "no, they wouldn't resist," but we already saw in the Maidan thing where yes, they resisted.

The Ukrainian Intelligence agency is basically now their Mossad, and they will not stop if the government collapses... and the Ukrainian government, should Russia make it all the way to the Western border of Ukraine, will just move to Poland.

Ukraine was not Belarus for a reason... it did not want to be.

Sure, how often do insurgents get anything back though?

Still going to take troops and armor to take it back.

What is interesting is that Ukrainian water drones control the Black Sea now. They wouldn't work so well in the Pacific, Atlantic or Indian oceans but with that technology any of the Baltic States could choke Russian trade to all but a standstill.

Regarding the Budapest Summit between Putina and President Trump; NEVER MIND.

quote:

Trump’s meeting with Putin in Hungary called off

Donald Trump no longer plans to meet Vladimir Putin in Hungary, the White House has confirmed.

The US president will not see the Russian leader in the “immediate future” after a phone call between negotiators to prepare for peace talks turned sour.

Preparations for the summit stalled when Moscow cancelled an in-person preparatory meeting between Sergei Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, and Marco Rubio, the US secretary of state.

In a tense conversation, Mr Lavrov is believed to have told Mr Rubio that Russia would not accept freezing the front line in Ukraine. (I'm shocked...shocked I tell you!!)

I just don't believe they will give it back. You don't conduct a war without knowing that is a potential outcome. The world will just get over it while still 'condemning' the action, or Russia will just be North Korea.

Putin certainly will not give it back, under any circumstances. But, I think there's a significant chance that this war ends with him out of power, and then all bets are off.

The General Staff of Ukraine: On 21 October 2025, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in coordination with the Land Forces, the Navy, and other units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine, struck the Bryansk Chemical Plant.

A massive combined missile and air strike was carried out, including the use of air-launched Storm Shadow missiles, which successfully penetrated the Russian air defence system.

The outcome of the strike is being assessed.

The Bryansk Chemical Plant is a key facility of the aggressor state’s military-industrial complex. The plant produces gunpowder, explosives, and rocket fuel components used in ammunition and missiles employed by the enemy to shell the territory of Ukraine.
