Just signed Bill. Our Military will now be stronger than ever before. We love and need our Military and gave them everything — and more. First time this has happened in a long time. Also means JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!

Without more Republicans in Congress, we were forced to increase spending on things we do not like or want in order to finally, after many years of depletion, take care of our Military. Sadly, we needed some Dem votes for passage. Must elect more Republicans in 2018 Election!

Costs on non-military lines will never come down if we do not elect more Republicans in the 2018 Election, and beyond. This Bill is a BIG VICTORY for our Military, but much waste in order to get Dem votes. Fortunately, DACA not included in this Bill, negotiations to start now!

That's disturbing

I'm not opposed to increased military spending in general, but there is a LOT of waste spending in the military. Every person I know that was in any branch (especially the Army though) has horror stories of absurd levels of wasteful spending.

Why doesn't Trump just issue an EO to his agencies that they will spend only 85% of their budget? Congress sets the budget, but it is at the discretion of the Executive branch to use it.
I know at NASA, there was always a mad dash to use every budget dollar by the end of the Fiscal, as unused money counted against the agency the following year. Just tell every department he cuts to make sure to have 15% left over by end of year.

so you're good with handing over that much money with little to no oversight?

There would be more funds to work with but for the massive corporate tax cut. As Bush II demonstrated, giant tax cuts and increased spending (wars) is a formula for budgetary disaster.

Probably the first time I pretty much hated what Trump tweets.
There is no real Republicans in Congress outside of Rand.

What about Obama's plan? He doubled the debt too.

Pretty sure we can bitch about deficit spending regardless of the amount. Especially if we elected a person with the intent to END deficit spending.
You cannot say a person's goal is to reduce the deficit, then defend them by saying they increased the deficit by less than the previous guy. Get hired as a CFO with that record, and your arse gets fired.

Things are not cheap even though the President negotiated the cost of jets down.
Fact is we lost more men last year to training than combat. We need to update things
