Our Governor ladies and gentleman Doing something that we all know has zero legal standing and the state will get sued and will lose costing us money, and he doesn’t care and is excited to grandstand for it.

Perfect

Considering no one asked for this, the legislators and governor who are ramming this through should be personally funding any litigation the state faces as a result.

The sad thing is a huge chunk of his base will eat it up, and when re-election comes up we will end up with another "Conservative Democrat" because either he will lose out and his base won't show up for the run-off, or people will vote against him for his political posturing that just makes us look even more dumb than we already know we are.

Saying that as a governor, who is an attorney that 100% knows this new bill is unconstitutional with clear precedent is wild. It’s wild even for a politician

He is looking his citizens in the face and saying I don’t give a frick in costing all of you money so I can have some tv time

For fricks sake, finally gets power and this is what the Republicans do.

Just ridiculous, it's obviously illegal and obviously will fail, and there are just so many things to fix.

I love how three of the biggest pieces of legislation passed recently are three things 99% of Louisiana citizens didn’t have remotely on their radar going into Landry’s term.

Sale of nitrous oxide, hemp based seltzers and requiring the 10 commandments in schools.

Who was clamoring for these items to be addressed 6 months ago???

Some big donor with a "war on drugs", just not the pharmaceutical, tobacco, or alcohol industry because they donate to the campaign. Also grand stand for Christianity for the part of the base that spews hate to the beliefs of others and only attends church or mass a few times a year.

You’re getting downvoted by some Fundies on here.

And is it appropriate that 2nd graders learn a word in school like adultery? “Mommy, what’s adultery? That’s a word on the 10 commandments at school. And what’s coveting your neighbor’s wife mean?”

frick this is so dumb. We do really elect the worst people in LA, fiscally liberal and socially conservative with an authoritarian flair.

Exactly. We are flush with cash. Have the state ranking near the top of all descending order charts for quality of life, infrastructure, and education. Have multiple cities ranking at the top of not only US but the globe. (It's for murder and violent crimes, but still at the top!) The roads are vintage, and traffic patterns allow for travelers to truly get to enjoy the beauty of the state by prolonging their commutes. We really are #blessed. /s

I mean you have people on this very board who claim in the issue in public schools is God isn’t in the classroom.

So I’m not surprised this is given precedent over actual change for the classroom, like better support for teachers and staff in the student discipline department. Or reduced class sizes.

what would posting them in a classroom do exactly? most of the time the kids do not pay attention to anything, so you think posting it on the wall will matter? man you religious lunatics need to stop and actually think.

posting signs and words on walls will do nothing. people do not pay attention or care, and teachers sure as shite aren't going to enforce it - they do not want to be held accountable in possible litigation, not to mention when they try to enforce the rules now, kids attack them.

posting religious views and tenants are not going to change it, so why does it matter if it is posted in the classroom or not?

and as for why Kids are evil - it is because a lot of parents just look at school as free daycare and just take a largely hands off approach. kids acting out is 1st and foremost on the parents to address - and we see time and time again, they don't

I remember the article on the nitrous ban, the citizen who pushed it couldn’t keep his junkie daughter from doing whip its so he got the state to ban it lmao.

Louisiana is a joke of a state.
