They work for the candidates and republicans in elected office, not the other way around like you think. They have very little to no funding to give, no force of law behind them, and they cannot order a candidate to run or stop running.
2015 was a result of two RINOs choosing to go scorched fricking Earth on a GOP front runner they had no hope of defeating and that front runner also inexplicably letting a Democrat sneak into the runoff uncontested without so much as a single mailer or ad spot against him.
If the LAGOP really was as powerful as you think they are, they would’ve never allowed Bobby Jindal’s feud with Vitter morph into an opening for a Democrat in the Governor’s mansion.

This is such bullshite. JBE was a highly informed top end legislator for two terms and voted for 6 out of 8 Jindal budgets. Either he’s a god damn liar or woefully incompetent for being a part of LA’s fiscal irresponsibility under Jindal. You can’t cherry pick it, everyone in Legis Leadership knew what was going on. So which was JBE?

JBE’s entire campaign for re-election is “I’m Not Jindal, don’t vote for Jindal”. He has zero substance beyond that and giving free handouts to his chronic liberal base.
Now, if your entire plan was to be anti Jindal....how can he support Jindal’s budget for 6 YEARS?!?
The reasoning is simple. He’s a vote whore. He will say anything to keep a govt jerb. He has the worst economic record of any governor in the entire country. He was a leader in the legislature that let Bobby Jindal Run the state budget into the ground. He created the largest growth of government welfare in the history of Louisiana. He campaigned for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
So why should we continue down this path?

As soon as I clicked "post" I knew there would be a Sentrius response.
That may have been true then. But now he's the incumbent with a fairly clean record and moderate/independent support. He's a swing voters dream. I think anybody who blindly thinks he's this grossly unpopular monster that the populace just can't wait to vote out is probably sadly mistaken.

You’re right, the LAGOP is completely irrelevant. It’s just a couple guys that spend a small budget to run ads against Democrats. They have nothing to throw their support behind one candidate and stop another from running for election. They gotta wait for the dust to clear and then they can support whoever gets elected, or lose again and just keep running statements saying JBE sucks
I wish republicans could maximize their sway by getting behind one candidate in the state. But it can swing too far to where the best candidates don’t get a fair shot, like the Dems are doing at the national level

I know there are some big money people who actually run the Rs and they aren’t worried about the Governor this year. The plan is to get as many reps & senators as they can control elected then run their guy in four years.
It’ll be four years of frustration for us because nothing will be done, but the parties care more about the parties then they do the people.

They need to just drop a hint to the FBI about the shady land deals going on involving his property's especially the casino deal. However considering the FBIs recent track record they would probably help him sweep it under the rug.

That where the opposing candidates have to jump in as well as their backers.
JBE isn’t Lilly white. His fingerprints are all over the SUNO mess for example. His administration is also stonewalling investigation into widespread Medicaid fraud.
He also allied himself with the trial lawyers, movie interests and the nursing home interests who are slowly looting the treasury due to favorable state rules.
JBE was a key player in the legislature allying himself with the black caucus to help shape the state budget under a Jindal. He knew what was going on before he took office and lied about his plans to balance the budget.
He has some exposure.
