This is not about the docs. The docs are all pretext. Negotiations between former administrations and the national archives are commonplace especially when it comes to Presidential libraries. W was in negotiations for at least 2 years after he was out of office about documents. This is about something more and I suspect it is not even J6 stuff either.
The Feds were worried about something that Trump might know that they don't want getting out. My understanding is that this was decided on about 6 or 7 weeks ago and they were waiting on something to happen that would determine if they would go to a local federal magistrate . From what I understand this is about something that has to do with a lot of money. The DOJ knows they got nothing on Trump for J6 other than Trump being a little fiery and believing the election was stolen, which is not a crime. They have the testimony from Cippollone and Meadows and the cupcake that was engaging in gossip and unless you want to charge Trump for being a jerk, they got nothing on that end.
Some documents that nobody really cares about even if classified is not what this is about.

Maybe but that code that the Washington Examiner cites is clear. I suppose this is why previous Presidents have gone through some process to get documents for their library.

It was mentioned somewhere that Trump was keeping letters/gifts from Kim Jong Un and that he had kept a friendship with Kim. Is it possible the raid has something to do with this? I know there are laws which prevent private citizens from engaging foreign governments and trying to make policy. I just don’t think this is about J6 or National Archives docs. It has to be something else.
