The District of Columbia National Guard is commanded by a major general with a brigadier general as his or her adjutant general. The mayor of the District of Columbia, the United States Marshal for the District of Columbia, or the National Capital Service director may request the commander-in-chief to aid them in suppressing insurrection and enforcement of the law; however, there is no chain of authority from the District of Columbia to the D.C. National Guard.[3]

No there is no chain of authority but it was offered to the speaker of the house and the mayor of dc. Trump offered and THEY turned it down. Run along boy. You are making an idiot of yourself.

Damn man. Open your eyes. It is documented and recorded in the Oval Office. Trump offered. Pelosi turned it down. Trump offered the national guard to Portland Oregon mayor during the summer of love. He turned it down. Trump could not impose the guard on them as by law. He could not due so on the capital either UNLESS Pelosi agreed to it. You’re again making yourself look like a fool.

Can you imagine if Trump forced the National Guard on them? Low T would be the first to call Trump a dictator, haha

Wrong bitch. The president needs the request or agreement from another to put military on the streets. In the case DC mayor or Pelosi needed to authorize

You would really think there would be some proof that Trump wanted to bring in the NG. Some sort of corroboration, a text message, maybe even an email.

You are clueless on this, the reason a president can not order troops around in the states without a Gov. approval in times of peace should be evident. He has to make them available, a Gov. or DC district mayor has to approve them.

I see you don't understand The Posse Comitatus Act.

It bars US federal troops from participating in law enforcement on US soil.

In order for US federal troops to be used for domestic law enforcement, it must be APPROVED by the US Congress.

Carry on chump.

So what you are saying is that Trump had the actual power to call out the National Guard and he didn’t. That is reality. Trump had that power and he did not call them out.

The OP premise is that Trump called them out and was overruled or refused by the Speaker of the House, which is both objectively horse shite and a lie.

National Guard is controlled by governors. In DC, since there is no governor, the commander in chief is the President of the United States.

Try again moron.
