No problems with the arse, FAQ, KIK, or JIG plates?

They won't issue these or any other obvious ones to begin with

Where does dink fit into all this?

Generic SE Asian. Just as "slant" implicates Asian eye shapes, "dink" is derogatory as most SE Asians are of diminutive stature, relative to other races/ethnic groups.

Kansas is dumb. But calling someone a Jap can definitely be derogatory. It was a big part of the war propaganda.

Calling someone from Japan a Jap is no different than someone from Europe calling Americans Yanks. Some people are not happy unless they are in a constant state of outrage.

I have 3 neighbors that are Japanese. Pretty sure they would all laugh about it - I will ask the next time I run into them.

I think it’s more akin to calling someone a Brit, a Pole, a Thai, a Turk, a Czech, a Fin, or a Serb.

Only certain people are allowed to be offended.

You know the left-wing bs by now.

Three letters on a license plate being racist is about as likely as a misshapen waffle being the virgin Mary. If everything you see is racist, perhaps the real racist is in the mirror.

A Jewish friend (from an especially well to do family) said to me "Every JAP deserves a facial, a manicure and a pedicure every week" and then explained to me what a JAP was.

He replied that the term Japanese is proper, and 'Jap' is considered derogatory slang and is viewed as a term of disrespect.

It’s just a shortened version of a word. Sort of like how Japanese people are shortened versions of regular people.

Grandfather, USMC, fought at Peleliu. He died back in 2003. If you were a Jap and he was anywhere around, you had a mortal enemy nearby.

Had the section at the 84 World's Fair in NOLA where all the different countries had an exhibit set up. Only time I ever heard him curse was when he saw that Japanese flag flying there. He couldn't believe anyone would let them fly that thing in America.

One of the ladies that in our local running club has one of the offending plates. She posted a photo on Facebook about it a few weeks ago. She thought she was singled out.

It is...I don't know why...like Nip, it's just an abbreviation of the Country's name.

Yanks is more derogatory...or hell, far worse...Gringos.

The Japanese names for Japan are Nippon and Nihon. Nippon is the official name of their country in official and currency use.

Their baseball league is the Nippon Professional Baseball League.

Western Countries call it Japan for long-standing linguistic reasons...rooted in history and how you can say the letters spelling Japan differently based on your country of origin. "Land of the Sun" or "Land of the Rising Sun" written down can phonetically come to different words.

California is a cancerous organ. It is metastasizing to other states in multiple ways, through the vector of liberals.
