He was being sarcastic and witty and most likely attacking Fox, while being self unaware that he was describing the legacy media at the same time.

Not at all. Well... sort of. What he's doing there is engaging in verbal irony. Listen to his tone and cadence, they are completely different from what he uses when he's being Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz (his real name) versus the comedian/social-commentator/Hollywood/media persona (like when he's giving a speech about the health issues of the 9/11 responders).
He knows all the media here does it (just look at the recent "Black woman in Mississippi hanged by man" headlines a few days ago which were on most news sites and which purposely hid that the killer was black so the reader would infer they were white because... race-based rage-bait clicks), but when pressed he would likely name only conservative outlets like FNC or OANN.
