Heard on the radio the old baw broke his pelvis in a fall this morning. Hope he is doing well.

Second fall he's had in a month.

Last time he was building houses the next day. This time, not likely.

Possible recurrence of the brain tumor affecting his equilibrium? (Let's hope not)

I hope he makes it through ok.

I miss having Democrats who just made poor economic and foreign policy decisions, but still loved America and didn't loathe white people.

To Jimmy Carter!!

As someone who has witnessed this happening to two elderly people and both dying shortly after over the last three months, I'd have to agree with you.

Yes - Carter was a bad president because he was just incompetent. I always considered him to be an honest moral man - just wrong on his policy.

I never thought he hated America or what it means to be an American.

Hell - I never even thought LBJ was anti-American - but I did think he was a totally dishonest, amoral, wicked man.

Which is why Obama has replaced LBJ as "worst POTUS in history" in my book.

Even if he goes now, dude has had a full life.

Inherited a shite storm. Added his own screwups to it, but also added at least a façade of integrity after Watergate. (Ford did, too, but we needed a party change to move on.)

Aside from Hoover (and maybe Taft), probably the most productive post-presidential career.

Symbolically-It would be poetic (in a bad way) for Jimmy to go out in these times. Nothing non- vile associated with the Democratic Party is allowed to thrive in these times. Everything with any normalcy must suffer and be diminished. And those who thrive like Pelosi and Schiff, you almost feel like you can see the horns. Evil , hubris and destruction permeates the Party.

Yep.

At that age range and depending on the overall health of the elderly, all it takes is one or two firm and swift impacts of blunt force to start the spiral down the drain.

Anecdotal Source: my 93 year old grandmother who fell 3 times in 4 months and died shortly thereafter.

The human body at that age is notoriously frail and does not have the ability to heal and thrive like it used to.

Whenever he re-entered politics he sucked!

Wishing him a speedy recovery so that he can swing his hammer again!

Jimmy Carter is the worst ex president ever. He constantly kept meddling in American foreign policy and kept entertaining and giving legitimacy to bad actors that constantly undermine American interests.

He should retired to his peanut farm in Georgia after Ronald Reagan gave him his walking papers.

Read this article to understand how much damage he did after he left office. Don’t let the sweet old man act fool you.

Don't worry, Obama will take that title too just like he did the worst president ever one. If for no other reason, he wouldn't have a clue how to swing a hammer.

That guy writes so much critical stuff about almost every ex-president (and election) that it's hard to take him seriously. He just comes across as a "Get off my lawn" type that is going to rail on everybody to make himself feel smarter. He strikes me as the conservative version of the "I'm smarter than you" crap you see out of so much of the left.

I'm not saying I agreed with Carter, or that there was not reason to criticize his meddling at times. Just saying he didn't sit back doing nothing or line his pockets by selling influence branded as "speaking fees".

As far as productivity, I was not even referring to his "diplomacy". I'd be willing to bet a significant amount of Habitat's funding and volunteer force comes about because he raised their awareness.

Broken clocks and all that.....

And that’s my problem with Jimmy Carter. He had no business being productive at all when he was soundly rejected by the American people in a 40 state, 400 EV landslide.

Just quietly leave office and disappear to your peanut farm in Georgia for the rest of your life.

But no, he chose to “productively” do more harm than good.

He is a good man, and he did inherit a mess.

The Iranian hostage crisis was mostly a non win situation, unless someone was willing to trade guns for hostages.
