Well, as long as DC is 97% Democrats we are screwed . Perhaps a meteor or move our Congress to Fla. would help.

I wish 97% of DC were “Democrats”…..they’re not! The vast majority of people in DC who identify as democrats are Marxist Authoritarians in their ideological beliefs and quite frankly, in their souls. The vast majority of Republicans in DC are not of the MAGA/America First movement, they are more than happy to allow the American Marxists full control of our government and society if they believe they will still be allowed to participate in the DC political self enrichment program…..aka Swamp System.

While the Republicans in Congress haven’t uttered a peep.

McCarthy had full control of all the investigations that should have taken place right after Trump’s inauguration and McCarthy, along with other establishment Swamp Republicans let the corrupt Dims off the hook and look where we are. This BS attitude of Swamp Republicans letting “bygones be bygones” is unacceptable at this point in US history…..if our constitutional republic is to persevere it will only happen if the American Marxist/Groomer party is absolutely neutered/marginalized.

I can't agree more with this. But McCarthy is going to be the Speaker of the House. He's a snake. It's not an accident their guy is in California where conservatives can't touch him. The question is how do we make him our snake? I think Trump has his number.

This board consistently proves that it has no idea what it actually like to be part of a body that has to work together and make decisions.

Look... Jim Jordan may hate McCarthy's guts. The reality is... McCarthy is the boss. If Jim Jordan comes out today and says... yeah I'm not support McCarthy for Speaker... then McCarthy is in a position - as minority leader - to make Jordan's life hell.

He can mess with his committee assignments. He can mess with getting Jordan's bills moved through Congress. He can use the power of the office to throw shade on Jordan and on his fundraising.

If you are going to take a shot at Leadership, you only get one shot and you best not miss. 6 months before the general election is NOT the time to take that shot... especially not on national TV.

Who in their right mind is going to credit McCarthy for whatever gains Republicans may make in November? He's confusing McCarthy with newt Gingrich in 1994 for frick's sake.

As I can see at this point, there is ZERO national republican movement in any discernable way. Other than, "We're not Biden, sort of," what exactly is the theme for these clowns?

Decapitate this 'good ol boy's' club and make the federal workers live in the real world.

In this day of zoom calls, they don't have to be within walking distance of each other.

Set uo a dormitory housing for congress - require that they be there in order to vote. But discourage them from living there. Make their families live in the districts/states they represent.

DISCOURAGE any benefits of 50 year tenures in congress.

I find it disgusting that federal/government employees have pretty good pension/retirement benefits at the expense of US taxpayers, the majority of which
don’t have retirement pensions. But then again the majority of government employees are unionized and are voting for the Dim/Groomer party. Also, don’t forget that Whispering Joe bailed out the Teamsters’ Central States Pension Fund with a few billion dollars skimmed from his multi trillion dollar Covid19 stimulus deficit spending sham.

THIS is what tells me that Jordan's statement was quite possibly just the most innocuous way to avoid publicly divulging any sort of internal party squabbles at the present time.

If you look at it, it certainly wasn't PRAISE for anything McCarthy has actually DONE to date.

As firebrand as we may want some of these younger guys to be, we sometimes have to realize that in reality, they can't just unilaterally choose to implode the party based on a one off question of a reporter.

I disagree on this issue in particular.

Kevin McCarthy is what happens who Democrats are allowed input into who the SOH should be.

If the Republicans take back the house it will be due to Biden’s incompetence and the support of Trump’s base. IOW it will be despite McCarthy not bc of him.

there are scant few members of Congress who would voluntarily screw themselves out of their self enrichment/political influence peddling scams.

case in point, John Wayne Mullin out of Oklahoma.
He ran for his house seat on a promise he would only serve two terms and much of his campaign was based on need for term limits.
guess what? he's on his third term and currently running for Jim Inhofe's senate seat.

I bet Mullin is still deep in his struggle to get congressional term limits passed through congress…..lol!

If we could get rid of all of swamp rats and all of the Rinos, we could start all over. Jordan is all bark, just like all of his Rino friends.

Serious question, who are the alternatives?

Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but I'm not hearing about other members of congress who are wanting to challenge him.
