This isn't an LSU women's basketball issue any longer. It's an intelligence issue and a freedom of speech issue. Both of which Landry hates.

So you believe it's a "bad look" and "damaging to (both teams') brand" when neither LSU nor the visiting team for football games in Tiger Stadium are on the field when the national anthem is played?

This is standard practice in college football and has been for decades. I'm not sure why people are trying to conflate that with college basketball.

What an intelligent way to decide who governs your state. I assume you are ok with a rabid marxist running this state, increasing taxes, spending, and empowering the woke morons as long as they say nice things about LSU? Grow up a little.

Landry has set himself up to get dunked on due to his ignorance, along with multiple posters on this board, of what actually happened.

And I can't stand kneelers, but that is not at all what was going on. A slight bit of research outside of looking at headlines with a preformed opinion shows the facts.

Multiple teams have not been present during the anthem and it has been a logistical issue brought on by the NCAA with how they have pregame warmups setup.

But everybody is so emotional...

That letter is dated April 2nd. Why do you continue to bring up a topic that has been beaten to death? For a so called “educated” person your stupidity is quite impressive.

Basically.

They have a pre-defined in-group and they will defend that group, no matter the rationality or intelligence required to be shed to do so.

If LSU is going to cater to every dumb, emotional rant from the trailer park, we might as well shut down LSU sports.

Yes it is.

It may be an intelligence thing of the moment, and being too stubborn to apologize when you're wrong. It has nothing to do with "freedom of speech".

If being for limited government and protecting individual rights makes me a "leftist", then I'd love to know how you describe your authoritarian preference in government.

I'm a leftist because I like freedom of speech?

Whatever you say. The Republican party is so fricked now. They've handed over the party to retards. Sad thing to see.

Neither team is on the court at LSU home basketball games during the playing of the national anthem. It's been that way for as long as I can remember.

I'm not sure why you ignore that and think it's only football games where that's the case.

If it was so important that both tesms be present for the playing of the National Anthem, why don’t they play it immediately before the game begins like baseball does?

Everyone knows that teams warm up, then they return to the locker room to relieve themselves or whatever and the coach does their thing. After all that they come out to play.

I know this is the way football and basketball teams handle pregame. Prepping for the game is a big deal.

Jehovah Witnesses don’t believe is saying the Pledge of Allegiance because they say it’s against their religious beliefs. If a JW child was in a public school and Landry said,” either say the Pledge or we are kicking you out” would you also support that?

I'm lost is Landry saying they have to sing or say anything, or just simply respectfully stand out there will work?

This thread has brought out some scorching hot takes

It’s almost as if 90% of these people haven’t attended an LSU sporting event in the last 2+ decades.

Yeah, you keep saying in threads where you defend leftism. That's quite an achievement.

Mulkey's Baylor team was present for the national anthem before the national title game in 2019. Wonder what changed since then for her to change her pregame routine for tournament play!

It’s kind of a bad look by Landry imo. No LSU teams are out for the anthems. He’s falling for Breitbart clickbait
