Probably already on Landry's desk from what I know about the new Colonel.

Yes. And the local judiciary, too.

Is that even possible for a Governor to do? Seems like the feds will jam him up.

At least he’s trying to do something.

“power to dissolve NO municipal government and place it directly under the state”

Then the state is paying even more money for shitty liberal voters.

Liberals in NOLA should eat their own shite.

Why, exactly? I don't think it will be some sort of panacea for NOLA's perpetual shittiness, but I am not seeing your point. NOPD isn't doing its job or protecting the State's citizens.

Would you want Jason Williams and the DA’s office in NOLA to determine if lethal force was/is justified if it’s used in a situation? The guy who ran on putting cops in jail? That’s why.

Plans for Troop Nola include a contingent of 40 troopers, sources familiar with the planning say.

That’ll take care of about three blocks of the city. If Landry is serious about changing the situation in that city we need 500 or 1,000 additional officers. That may actually do some good if they make a serious commitment to this. But 40 won’t change anything.

Troopers could make a difference if they were turned loose to crack some skulls. It would take a Wild West style approach to law enforcement to make a noticeable difference in that hell hole.

I mean LSP troopers are still significantly scarier than NO or BR city cops. Especially that they do what the governor asks basically is how I understand it then yes

It’s the perpetual Jeff Landry hate. There are about 5 or 6 posters that Landry personally offended and for that, they shite on literally everything Landry will do.

I just want to know what Landry did that makes them so mad?

Weren’t you a part of the “defund the police” effort in 2018 and 2019?

Troopers in NOLA means as many Troopers not patrolling the highways. That means more speeders, more drunk driving crashes, more dead innocents. Landry didn't think this one through - NOLA voted repeatedly for what they have. NOLA could have voted for "law and order" leadership but they didn't, so that means NOLA doesn't want Troopers there. Wait until they get into a high profile use of force incident. The people of NOLA will want to ruin the Troopers involved. Keep them out of NOLA, we want them and need them to do the jobs they signed up for - working the highways.

Has LSP increased its headcount by the numbers they plan to send to NOLA? No.

1) JW has already agreed all cases involving LSP will be handled by the AG

2) JW the DA is turning out to be better than JW the candidate. He’s realizing the liberal foolishness he campaigned on doesn’t actually work.

No one in NOLA voted for the consent decree.

Ridiculous amounts of paperwork, a ban on profiling, and generally the inability to crack skulls and work with informants.

The consent decree basically says that policing in an urban city should be handled the same way as policing in Mandeville.

It’s just not realistic.

The hell of it is, we got the consent decree because of corruption. I’m not sure it’s better now, and we can’t aggressively police anymore.

No shyt.

NOLA voted for the mayors that appointed the superintendents, that promoted the captains and majors, that hired, trained and supervised the officers that earned them the consent decree. NOLA voted for the council that created the residency rule, that severely limited the hiring pool, that lead to the incompetent city workers that have run the city into the ground.
