He’s not punishing couples without kids, he’s rewarding couples with kids by lowering their taxes. He’s not raising taxes on people without kids. Use your fricking brain, moron!

I want people with kids to pay taxes supporting public schools. My kids are grown and we homeschooled when they were younger. Who’s with me?

Vance is an idiot and Trump would be foolish to keep him on the ticket. We have literally spent one week playing defense. This is unacceptable.

Conservatives are so worried about actually standing on the moral principles they believe. What good are morals if you hide them the second you get a platform to do anything with them? It’s ok to be against things that are bad for the United States.

Should we sit on our hands and let the alphabet people, Muslims, and NWO clowns run America into the 3rd world like they are in Europe? Sorry he makes you uncomfortable. I’ll take that over open drug use everywhere, sharia law, and eating bugs.

A lot of words just to demonstrate you don't have an answer to the question. That's about right.

Where did I suggest he shouldn't speak? Further, where did I state that he makes me uncomfortable as you suggested earlier?

He's talking about incentivizing something that is already incentivized. Does he want to incentivize further? Great. Then he should come out and plainly state that instead of putting in terms that confuse what is a woefully ignorant public. Like it or not, the general public is dumb, especially when it comes to taxes. Hell, we had someone a couple pages back that tried to argue that S Corps are at a tax disadvantage

Increase the credit. Remove the phaseout for high earners. Easy. Done. Says the same thing without this lame "gotcha" opportunity.

That's just it, though: Marriage is already incentivized. Having children is already incentivized.

Yeah. But that tax credit doesn’t cover the cost of competition dance. Or a kid in hockey. Or a trip to Panama City Beach.

In short, the current incentives aren’t working. Why is that?

What is moral about wishing to arbitrarily tax an infertile couple more?

Are you proposing we don’t do that?

It’s not taxing infertile people more. It’s incentivizing people who have children.

I’m gonna blow your mind. You also get tax credits for adoption.

No, apparently that's what Vance wants. The title of this thread suggests those without kids must always be placed in a higher tax bracket than those who have kids.

Apparently you’ve never been on live television.
Or listened to the context of the clip.

And what about conservatives who just want to exist as we always have? Treating them as second class citizens isn't it. There shouldn't be any god-damned federal income tax at all. That's what Vance should be championing.

He never said tax bracket. He said tax rate. And people with children (under 17) already pay a lower effective tax rate as they get child tax credits (at certain income levels).

Are you proposing we do away with those?

The Trump admin wants to get rid of income tax.
