You took delight in people losing their retirement. I’m not the foul one in this binary choice. fig.

the national price of gas is $3.00/gallon vs $4.15/gallon.
I always laugh at Dem voters in blue states(not referring to you)that bring this up when it's blue stats that have the highest gas prices/taxes and cause that national avg. to go so high.

The tariffs are supposedly part of an economic strategy to reduce the US trade deficit and to encourage US companies to bring their companies/production back to the US to help American workers.
Tariffs can absolutely be used in this manner if targeted. Trump’s “liberation day” was so profoundly unfocused as to undermine its usefulness. If the Trump administration focused tariff policy for specific effect, it would be easier to justify.

Here is where you folks get shortsighted.
The nonmetro median income for a family of 4 is $84,700.
Basic Expenses per year
Rent + Utilities - $15,000
Health Insurance - $8,000
Car Payment for 2 beaters because both work - $7200
Gas & Car Maintenance - $6000
Groceries for a family of 4 - $10,000
1 Kid in Daycare - $17,000
1 Kid in School - $10,000
Thats $74,000....leaving an extra
That leaves you an extra $200 a week to pay for anything else that comes up, clothing, stick a little in retirement, unexpected medical bill, car insurance, renters insurance. and whatever else comes up.
Wages not keeping up with cost is what drove the middle finger the GOP received last night.
The other party won't do anything to help either, but when you only have two parties, people just hope the other can get them a little relief.
I know you OT ballers that knock down 7 figures a year are above this type of stuff but it is the reality for the average American right now.
There was a study out this week that said it take a family of for making a $187k a year to live comfortably using 50/30/20 rule.
Most american families don't even make half that.

Trump ignored the affordability issue and it hurt him.
It's more like the Democrats used their propaganda machine to create an affordability issue and the young voters bought it hook, line, and sinker.

Ok so gas is cheaper without the Iran situation, someone tell me what else would be significantly cheaper today if Iran had not been attacked.
Housing? I don't think so
Milk? I don't think so
Insurance? I don't think so
Automobiles? I don't think so
None of this is cheaper than it is right now if Trump isn't president. Including gasoline.

So, even if he doesn't waste all of this time & political capital on another pointless war in the ME he doesn't solve even one of these issues?
That's your assessment and you wonder why Republicans got steamrolled yesterday.
