I need to learn this trick.
I want it for cell phones. I can call the target and say, "I'm just calling to tell you goodbye", as the phone detonates next to their ear.

I'll go on record and say I don't believe this story. Maybe they got some explosives in some amount of them but I don't think its possible to "hack" a pager/phone into suddenly exploding.

They definitely did not "hack the batteries" to blow up. That part is bullshite.
What may have happened is they sent some malware to make the phone work so hard the batteries exploded from overuse.
I've had instances where a battery expanded to where I could spin the phone around like a toy (even after it cooled down). Take that to eleven.

What a great idea! Now they know exactly who the terrorists are.
Pager blew up? You are a terrorist.
It's also a great way for the IDF to let those scum know that they are NEVER safe.

This had to have been a supply chain attack with small amount of explosives put into the pagers.

If that were true it wouldn’t ‘explode’ though, not in the way people think.
The casing would rupture and it would start a fire with a small jet for the first few seconds.

Theoretically, yes. There's an easily available device called a Flipper Zero that could do something similar. I've read that it can flood phones with text messages to the point it overheats and shuts down. If you or I can get this for less than $200, I'd imagine the Israeli and US military can do something far more complex

How do you hack a pager to have their batteries explode?
Yeah, I'm not buying this. I've seen cell phone batteries overheat. The chance of an explosion is minimal. This might have given a bunch of hamas guys a burn on their leg at most. A pager battery would be less powerful than a cell phone battery. It almost certainly did not kill multiple men. This is a Hollywood fantasy.

And who TF are carrying around pagers these days?
Another valid point. I'm going to need more proof than a media or government spokesperson.

Remember, this is the country that stashed remote control bombs in strategic airbnbs in Iran just in case someone they wanted to blow up ever stayed there.
They always find a way.

Reverse the technology to eliminate the need for a national do not call database.
Which, lime all govt programs, does not work.
Entire scam call centers in Bangladesh erupt in flame.

I don't think these were pagers that Israel somehow hacked to explode. They had to have been pagers that were sold to Hezbollah that were rigged to explode. There is no way you can software hack a random pager and have them explode. The Hezbollah guys need to be damn careful where they buy their electronics.

Aren't weapons designed to maim a war crime?

They were disabling communication; the maiming is just a side feature.

And you just committed a felony if anyone uses your info to commit a crime.
Just an FYI

They were probably sold "pagers" with batteries that were designed to explode.

"Blowing that airplane out of the sky was meant to disrupt their transportation, killing all those people is just a side feature."
It seems Israel is determined to validate every negative stereotype about why they're hated throughout history.
