re: Isn't President Trump’s "deal with Putin" just the President bypassing US legal sanctions?

What is interesting about Ending Importation of Russian Oil Act of 2022 is that it does not have a National Interest Waiver. Most of these types of statutes contain those waivers. But this statute only ends when the President submit a statement to Congress that Russia has ceased hostilities with and withdrawn forces from Ukraine along with a statement that Russia does not pose a threat to NATO allies. After such communication there is a 90 day window where the sanctions continue giving Congress time to accept the end of sanctions or refuse to accept the President's notice.

Hope that helps, but I don't care if it makes sense to you.

I’m guessing that the one’s on Capital Hill could not tell you the specifics, maybe their handlers could. I do think that there is more to the matter of just fuel release, maybe some euro union beat down or some Ukraine warning. These things are generally not a singular thing

Thanks, Jim. Always appreciate your input.
Maybe the reason you announce these things on Fridays is that the media doesn't have its first-string working on weekends. (My ex-wife was a weekend anchor:))

That's an easy request. There are no “democrats” vs “republicans”. It is only them vs us. Notice how the ONLY time they unite, it to take away our rights or to stop President Trump’s agenda.
That more than anything should illustrate he is the only fighter in our corner, who has repeatedly put everything on the line.

Did you call everyone up and ask them?
Or did you just pull the number out of your arse?
Can’t wait to burn some Ruskie diesel fuel.

Yeah it’s the 272 Republicans that are in congress that are the problem not Trump. Do you see how insane that line of thinking is?

Okay so did he lift the sanctions or did he make a one-time deal to put some diesel on the global market?
There is a difference.

Pretty strong allegation there. You wouldn’t by chance have any, say, examples of that strong allegation, would you?
Posted on 10/10/26 at 12:47 pm to IvoryBillMatt
Have you read the sanctions legislation? Perhaps that would be a good starting point instead of making yet another banal and uninformed thread.
