Have you Googled it to see if there's any news out there, or did you come straight here?

I would hope Robert Kennedy speaks out on this a bit. I’m not sure why supposed conservatives that insist they care about the great outdoors find this to be a good idea.

I voted for Trump but this is bullshite

Let me guess, you heard this from the media or some other Democrat.

Let's see if you can figure out how this works. Someone gets fired and it had nothing to do with Trump, so Democrats and the media claim that Trump did it so that Idiots like you get riled up.

That's exactly what happened, isn't it?

Rogers magic tour bus ride is about to become Roger’s hiking and bike ride. No driver and bus needed.

For the past several days the local Fox 4 affiliate in KC has been running stories every day about OMB putting people out of work in the KC metro and cutting funding for non profits that largely benefit minorities ......shocking.

No, some of us actually live in the Pacific Northwest and know people being fired?!? As shown above an Alaskan friend knows of dozens of good forest service employees fired in Alaska but okay

The US Forest Service is firing about 3,400 recent hires while the National Park Service is terminating about 1,000 workers under Donald Trump’s push to cut federal spending and bureaucracy, according to a report on Friday.

Is the validity of this really in question?

The National Park Service is terminating about 1,000 employees under President Donald Trump's push to cut federal spending and bureaucracy. These layoffs target employees who are in their probationary employment periods, which includes anyone hired less than a year ago. The National Park Service will exempt 5,000 seasonal positions under its hiring freeze. The National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) has expressed concerns about the staffing cuts, stating that they could have serious public safety and health consequences.

I love the outdoors and National Parks but this doesn't sound that bad. A lot of these probationary hires were probably Biden DEI hires anyway.

I am just asking for a rationale from some as the topic of a pretty big one for folks who in the PNW. I am all for cutting down waste but this is silly.

Conservatives miss the mark on this one.

I want to make sure I can bring my children hunting out west. Maintaining some semblance of wilderness is very important to me.

Being able to disappear into the mountains for a couple weeks a year is imperative to my mental health.

So, are you asking because you don't know, or are you looking for rationale on something you know to be true?

It’s nearly impossible to enjoy the best national parks anymore. You have to get on waiting lists just to get on and then drove around for hours trying to find parking. Trump needs to give US citizens priority. It’s insane that our tax money supports these parks and their operations but as citizens we have to pay additional fees and wait behind thousands of foreigners to see them. Hell, make non citizens pay double!

I would suggest taking a minute on this.

The national park service was recruiting gays and trannies and a bunch of them could be in their probationary period.

The last evil admin was trying to commie up everything with people that hate America. The park service was one of their attempts to commie us up.

This is the one area I strongly disagree with Trump on. Federal lands and the management of them (for hunting opportunity) is a top 5 issue for me.

Firing probationary employees will do nothing in the fight against Bureaucracy. Its the entrenched positions.

I’m curious if there’s some pork barrel bullshite hidden within land management programs or are we just deeming good stewards of the land as government waste?

When told to cut spending, state and federal agencies cut the probationary and new employees first. Forced or mandatory retirement for those eligible will be done also.

5% of the NPS and they were temps. Shaaattt fellas, tell me you have never been through a rif without telling me you have been through a rif.

Thats a paper cut for a corporation, for a bloated govt agency that probably means the temp wont go fetch your clothes from the dry cleaners.

I suspect he’s firing Biden hires for votes of late in order to cull those who would not normally make the team. They will rehire the best if need be. If he starts gutting the long term veterans and dedicated nature lovers then he will catch hell and I’ll be down with it. Parks are off the table for any kind of rogue or truly injurious action.
