I agree. Mainly Russia wants to sell their O&G into the same markets we do.

Culturally Christian Americans have a lot in common with the Orthodox Christian culture in Russia.

The conflict is with the Bolsheviks who have a lot of sympathizers here in the Democrat Party.

You don’t think it was justified?

Would the US passively allow Chinese or Russian or Iranian troops on its borders?

What would be an appropriate response to said bases?

Modern Russia isn't necessarily an enemy of the U.S. Mostly that's because they can't compete with us economically or militarily. The problem is that Russia has always been expansionist, which puts them as a threat to our strategic and economic partners.

To be honest - given the current climate I feel more American values align with Russia than England and their ilk

No. That would actually be Great Britain. The US and the UK pretty much despised each other until the World Wars and the Beatles.

Because Russia has transformed itself back into it's old traditional Orthodox Christian self.

No. They are FAR from that. Russia is economically struggling. China is our only true financial competition right now. Even the EU is a stagnant economic wasteland.

What would be the purpose of NATO with no Russian enemy?

They are an enemy of the international banking cartel that controls the United States and many other countries as well as the globalists who desire to control every aspect of the lives of the people on Earth. Therefore Americans are propagandized from the cradle to the grave how bad the Russians are even after they ditched communism.

Don't misunderstand. There are bad people and bad things about Russia like there are in many other countries around the world but are they presently some mortal enemy that a sanely led United States should have no relations with and do everything we can to antagonize them into a nuclear holocaust like the last administration seemed hell bent on doing? Absolutely not.

Whatever they are, they’re quite retarded and usually lead by big retards. A place like Russia shouldn’t have the history of and still to this day, the reputation of being a very poor and hard place to live.

China and peace in Eastern Europe. Former east block countries can finally breathe and grow. Russia can concentrate resources where the danger really lies...to the east. Trade can bloom across a huge area. China would be pissed off. So I like it.

This is my belief as well. I'm hopeful that Trump's victory will put us on a new footing and leave the NeoCons behind.

Let's have a national conversation about what our true international interests are. Here are the things we will go to war over. Here are the things that are negotiable. Here are the things that are none of our concern.

As always, the sticking point is defining "we" and "our."

I'm a George Washington - isolationist ("no foreign entanglements"). I just don't see Russia as a foe to be opposed on every issue. I certainly don't sympathize with Russia.

You know that NATO was already on their borders. And, after the invasion, new countries are now in NATO with more borders.

Thus ignorant talking point needs to die. Russias invasion caused more borderland with NATO.

And who was the idiot that said Russia is conservative? Lol.

Link me to your supporting evidence.

NATO expanding its presence on the Russian border is the issue here.

You may be the idiot here…youre sayin Russia echos leftist viewpoints? I’ve seen Putin speeches. Have you? And you still hold this view?

I agree there are ambiguities involved...that's why I said a case for the invasion being for Russian national defense could be made.

I mean, that’s the case Russia made.

It’s reasonable.

Trump wouldn’t have let this happen and now he’ll clean up the leftist mess as usual.
