It does not really matter. Companies will see that people suddenly have an extra two thousand dollars and raise prices to capture as much of it as they can. The same thing happened when stimulus checks went out and prices coincidentally climbed around the same time.

This is the correct answer.
There's no reason for Trump to do this other than trying to hide the truth of the economy in the short term.
