The central govt is too powerful and complicit. It seems there is no solution that is viable to stop the decay in this country.

It’s already happening. Look at Minnesota, parts of Michigan. They’re entirely Muslim and Arab. Then you have totally secular parts of the country in the northeast and west coast. You have the Bible Belt in the southeast, as well as pockets of majority black population. Hispanics are growing in number in the southwest. The country is splitting apart and self-segregating. Not healthy for any country.

If people are willing to fight for it then it’s possible. Sadly the ones who will be doing the balkanization will be Muslims, Indians, and various people from three Central American countries. Those groups eventually will carve out significant portions of this country as their own.

It will be impossible. We are not divided by State or even region. We are divided urban and rural.

If a State or group of States left what would happen to the urban areas of that State. Would the cities of Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile leave the State of Alabama??

Its really our best chance for portions of something that resembles America to survive. Unless you deport 50 million people, or more

And yet people constantly moan that the executive branch isn't powerful enough when their guy is in. Funny how that works.

You are conflating 2 different things, typical tactic.

They could be made to submit to the will of the state.

Does expanding executive authority make the federal government stronger or weaker?

Maybe to some extent where even possible - larger swaths of areas that are decisively “red” or “blue”. It’d probably be rare to have an entire state or states band together - everything is too spread out.

But for the most part it’d be more carved up, hard to define, prone to change, and a lot of guerilla warfare and raids, roadblocks, etc.

Think Missouri during the Civil War but on a much, much larger, wider scale.

I think, if a state were separated from the union, the entire SNAP and Welfare scheme would also go away, and the exodus of culture would be quick to go where they can freely roam and act like locusts consuming the resources of taxpayers in other states.

At 250 years we are now at the point where we need to divorce Washington the same way we divorced the British crown. Nobody could disagree with this. Anyone who does is not living in reality

Agree with this. If we had stuck with the intention of the founders we wouldn’t have to worry about things like this. The states are way too subservient to Washington. The Southern states were right on this issue.
