Is Milo's assertion on free speech correct?

This is for posters who have been to Europe. I have not. He said in his interview with Tucker Carlson that there is greater freedom of speech (tolerance of unpopular opinions) in Europe than in the U.S.

Did he say that? I remember him saying that you could be arrested for being "offensive" in Europe.

England has blasphemy laws and Germany has hate speech laws; both would be found unconstitutional here so I doubt it

Europe is generally more civil all around.

That is clearly not what he said.

Right now. Yes. The Alt-Left is doing what they can to limit free speech. The problem is that there are no counter protesters to put them in their place and protect the free speech of others.
In other words, dodge ball.

You got that backwards

Same. Also kinda off topic, is that your Merkel RX as your avatar?

I don't know, I don't really spend my vacations giving political speeches.

i think you misheard
he often rails against Europe and the UK for not having freedom of speech

He absolutely said that. He was using it to illustrate how ridiculous PC culture has become in the US. He said that Europe has laws restricting free speech but our free speech in the US was more restricted than Europe's because of our infestation of liberal fricktards

He said what clockwatcher said.
I think he said something to the effect he was astounded to see the level of intolerance he saw on campuses

Yes he said it. I taped it because I don't stay up to watch Carlson. The context (and he talks really fast while Tucker is forming another question) was...
'you think of America as land of the free...but there is more freedom of speech in Europe than in the US.'
I know that you can't say 'Hitler is great' in Germany and you can't say 'Attaturk is a moron' in Turkey. But I have no idea what is allowed in a public forum like a speech in front of a college crowd.

France and Norway are similar to us in that aspect. Many European countries, including the UK, are more restrictive.

Most poofters are "civil"...because they are scared. Don't believe me? Look at how the islam scum have taken over large areas and the "civil" folk let them.
Most of the older generation are lions of courage, the new youngsters are scared of words and the weather. They worry about the well being of chickens and squirrels while the slime of islam rape their daughters.

He didn't say that. He said you can be arrested in Europe for racist or sexist speech.

Those two things can both be said. But I know he said it because I've got it on tape and I watched it again at 10 am. Actually it's Tivo but I assume that's still called 'tape.'

Not mine. Just a reminder that I want to get one eventually.

I understood him to say that freedom of speech as we know it is somewhat limited in Europe, and that Americans either do not understand or know how bad it is there. I also understood him to say that he was surprised by some of the restrictions placed on him by the universities he spoke at, and reminded him of Europe.
