Lazy question.

People who say, "I look at each individual issue" and end up with opinions all over the map are really just saying, "I have no operating principles that I use when assessing government's role in society".

Because of this, they mistakenly think that people who DO have principles are "adhering to party line". No, the party is a result of the principles, not the other way around. Which, is why for example in my case, I deviate on a few things from Republicans. BUT, my reasoning is STILL based on CORE PRINCIPLES.

I’ve never stuck to a party line. My progressive acquaintances think I’m conservative. My conservative friends think I’m left of center.

Nope.

I disagree with most conservatives on the Death Penalty.
I'm atheist.
I have significant problems with policing in America and regardless, I CORRECTLY recognize that they aren't our friends.

There are other issues too.

I try to convince my compatriots and occasionally, I get a friendly ear on it.But, I'm not a zero defect guy. At the end of the day, I'm goign to vote for whomever shares MOST of my core principles.

Apparently, this is the word of the night.

I'm just glad that I don't belong to the TRIBE that is currently inciting people to commit violence simply because a good man, who just happens to have more money than Chase Bank, and a gifted group of young people whom I affectionately refer to as the Geek Squad are currently exposing decades of waste and fraud which has been perpetrated by our very own corrupt, bought-and-paid-for federal government.

In todays world Trump is here because God ordained it by sparing his life - so I’d be leery of having any negative opinion of his because you are going against God’s will.

If Trump comes out tomorrow and says the sky is green - that’s what I’m going with.

Silliness. This is just bullshite people say so they can then just dismiss anyone who agrees with Trump on any particular issue. It's lazy.

I probably agree with Trump most of the time. But that's because HE agrees with ME. Not the fricking other way around.

And when he doesn't agree with me, then, we disagree. Simple.

Soo... I'm guessing you go with the tribe no matter what, right?

If foxnews says it's so, then it's so dammit. I can't write that tax check fast enough!

That's true tribalism there.

And brother, just in case you wonder, I'm a Trump fan. He's the best hope we've had in, well, a long, long time. But still... there's room for another opinion for all things going on when it comes to spending my tax dollars, and my kids' and their kids'. It's okay to voice your opinion. God gave you a brain too!

You should have your own opinions. You should also learn when it's time to accept you were outvoted and work with the team for the greater good. Not getting everything you want is no reason to sabotage all progress.

One tribe loves to chemically and physically castrate kids under the guise of trans ideology and says white men are the worst of all time and the reason they are losers.

The other tribe wants to lower my taxes, and doesn't want men in girls spaces

so based on that i know where i stand not with the kid mutilators

or MAGA. You wont find many who criticize anything that Donald does or says.

like if MAGA believed in the constitution they should at the very least be vocally against him running for a third term (per the 22nd)...but you wont see that on this board

But do you think the WAY that's being handled could be better...like having to rehire erroneous firings?

God intervened to spare Trump's life, so no one can disagree with him?

That's not what that means.

Do you know how many assassination attempts Hitler survived? 42 known attempts, probably more that weren't documented.

The Bible does say that rulers are put in place by God (which means that Trump was put there by God, but it also means that Biden was too). But it also indicates that God sometimes puts someone in power to bless a nation and other times He puts a particular person in power to punish a nation.

I'm not saying that Trump is Hitler or that he's here to punish America, but I am saying that the way you have this worked out in your head is not valid according to Biblical principles.
