Way back on New Year's Day, 1941, Hitler and the Soviet Union were Allies. Hitler and Britain were not. The American Left were Peace Hippies then. They were totally against sending ANY American boys to fight over in Europe because it was NOT our fight.
THEN on 22 June 1941, Hitler invaded the Soviet Union. Within HOURS, the American Left were clamoring for war against Hitler to save the World for Democracy.
The lesson here is this: You can expect the American Left to say or do anything to protect their own power. If Free Speech helps them, they'll be for Free Speech. If Totalitarian suppression of every human right can help then maintain their hold on power, they will be in favor of THAT.
Now that the Left have power, OF COURSE, the American Left are in favor of suppression of dissident speech.

Most of my family has severe TDS and is brainwashed by mainstream media and social media. I really don't know what to do other than try to point them to honest libs who hate MSM/big tech and have their own platforms like Glenn Greenwald, Jimmy Dore, Matt Taibbi, and Aaron Mate.

I guess my point is they aren’t just doing their normal denying of stuff
They’re watching and listening to what they think are dangerous storylines that might hurt their party
And they’re getting the news to jump ahead and run stories that kiiiiidna sound the same(FB is evil)
But they tell their viewers that it’s bc of the right

Yeah, I hate that everybody is using the word gaslighting so much lately, but it is true.

Note that CBS news producers failed to mention what I think is probably the most serious fact that was divulged recently by WSJ. That would be the secret white listing procedure.
Certain users - some politicians, certain celebrities and others - probably some executives of advertisers on FB - are essentially being white listed. They can post almost any opinion they want with immunity. FB has a confidential list of users who will not have posts flagged & hidden. How a users gets put on the list is “none of our business “.
Anyone who still thinks that FB is a platform for the free exchange of ideas is woefully out of touch with reality.

I have been saying for at least 10 years now that the lawsuit against social media tech will make the tobacco settlement look like a bag of peanuts. I am stunned that a few big gun attorneys have not already begun filing suit. As I recall, the tobacco lawsuit was litigated by private attorney working on behalf of a few State AG's.
They should file lawsuits using the exact same arguments. Instead of knowing their product causes cancer, Social media tech knows their products are addictive, built to be addictive, and know they cause serious harm and health damage to users.
The same argument can be used against big media corp. as well. It can be proven that most of their reports are intentionally misleading and especially the reporting on Covid 19 can be proven to have caused deaths.
