Iran fights for a different reason than we do

I have a lot of sympathy for the people of Iran. The majority are native Persian and are not Shiite Muslims despite the propaganda coming from the government. Realistically, Iran probably has the best ingredients in the Middle East to be a Non-Theocratic, Constitutional, Republic.
All that said, we have lost this battle decade after decade. War isn't going to remove this tyrannical regime.
