And because Americans might not be ready to start (or add to) a family, drastic times have apparently called for drastic measures. Check out how interest in the procedure spiked after the draft of the Dobbs decision was leaked back in early May, then really spiked in late June when the decision was official.

The demand is gradually increasing, too, according to Dr. Amin Herati, an assistant professor of urology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Vasectomy consults and procedures, he said, have increased by about 8% monthly since the ruling.

“I’ve seen patients in their early to mid-20s,” he said, “when they’ve reached a point where they talked to their partner and they said, ‘Two [children] is plenty’ or ‘three is plenty’ … and I’ve taken care of guys who are well into their 60s as well.”

Good.

Any vasectomies performed as a result of the overturning of Roe v. Wade are a net positive for society.

I'm about to get 1 but don't care about RvW. Mine will be simply because I already have 3 kids and we're done. We've done our part to keep the population of well behaved, classy folks going.

Finally showing some personal responsibility.

I wish the government would pay $5000 to anyone on welfare to be sterilized.

As crazy as this sounds, I have actually heard about two people who made the decision to get vasectomies citing the Supreme Court decision. That's a very strange reason to get a vasectomy unless your intent was always to risk baby making with abortion as a fall-back plan.

It will prevent the weak from multiplying.

Vasectomies should be 100% covered by private insurance and medicaid.

I would be willing to bet that it will be covered by medicaid soon.

Vasectomies after being done having kids shouldn't be cited as political as they make it sound.

Vasectomies because guys don't want to use birth control or to make some sort of political statement to impress the androgenous liberal chick that doesn't want to give him the time of day are kind of a dumb idea considering the doctor will tell you this should be considered a permanent procedure. Reversals aren't as easy as fine arts majors claim they are.

I support this. Anyone who is willing to prevent themselves from procreating for political purposes shouldn't be procreating anyway.

Let's take it a step further and sterilize all leftists.

I might even agree to do it at taxpayer expense as it would, in the long term, more than pay for itself.

Why do I suspect it’s predominantly white people getting snipped? Minority before long.
