If this was a legit number
It almost certainly is legit.
The reason markets are not reacting negatively is because, unlike the spring of 2021, this inflation actually does have a defined and transient cause. Once the Hormuz issue is resolved, the present bump in rate of inflation will likewise resolve.

Israeli nationals spent millions of dollars to install some puppet in a republican primary in a deep red state. Big win!

Seal talk again.

And you’ve managed to deflect again. I do understand why it’s necessary to go on the attack when unapproved topics are posted.

I was going to post this in the tariff thread but I figured it would get its own

Why? If energy is the driver... you know there are no tariffs on crude oil don't you?

The report isn’t complicated. If you need help with it get your broker to help you.

Sorry, as long as Democrats exist, I don’t fricking care. Give me 2 more terms of Trump any day of the week. The left is not compatible with western society.

High energy costs drive up prices.

Unless you are a democrat president. Then it's all just transitory.

Why would you put in a tariff thread?

Because the lawyer thinks he is smarter than everyone. He is just a midwit.

midterms are going to be a bloodbath

Deep down this board knows that, but I feel like they are still holding out a slim hope. The hope of a desperate gambler needing 3 aces on a draw just to not lose everything.

They are not emotionally prepared for what is to come

-For mid-terms, the House has remained the same party as the President only ~1/3 of the time. Since 1946, it's happened only 10% of the time. So right off the bat there's a massive uphill battle to holding the House, so even more so with the hope of increasing seats.

-Continued sky-high deficits are continuing to drive inflation because the very definition of inflation is "too much money chasing too few goods." As long as Congress continues to run ~$/1T+ deficits (and the projections are for far higher), inflation isn't going anywhere without rates going up. Either of those makes the road a bit tougher for the President's party going into mid-terms. Both? That's multiples tougher.

-The media is going to continue to blame inflation on the war with Iran and tariffs, regardless of whatever the reality is because that narrative is politically expedient and easier to understand and report. As we've seen countless times there are still throngs of people who get their information this way.

Even just one of these would make holding the House difficult, all of them are in play right now.

The only viable paths conservatives have are:

-The war ends soon. This would drop pump prices almost overnight. Get gasoline back below $3/gallon and that removes a lot of perceived inflation by consumers.

-When your enemy is beating themself, don't stop them. The fringe left is currently pushing whackadoos like Platner and Talarico. Avoid the emotional appeals but keep showing their extreme stances and don't let them crawfish away from them by trying to change the focus to other things.

-Keep pushing deportations. Despite the black eye ICE has gotten, the subject of deporting illegals still has strong support. LINK
---~80% support deporting immigrants here illegally who have committed crimes, across party lines
---~56% support deporting all immigrants here illegally (ie: "mass deportation"), breaking down to roughly 77% Republicans, 53% Independents & 37% Democrats

-Pass the fricking SAVE Act, pressure Thune with whatever necessary for him to get the stick out of his arse on this

Getting these done might not keep us from losing the House, but it should lessen the amount by which we lose it.

At least we don’t have any new wars, even though Candidate Trump never made that campaign promise.
