I noticed prices have gone down at the grocery store. A lot of things are much more affordable now than they were 3 months ago.
This past Saturday at the local grocery, eggs down $2/dozen, from $6.99 to $4.99, needs to drop another $1.99/dozen. Overall meat prices have remained flat or have slightly decreased over the past 3 months depending on where you live in the US. Gas is around $2.85/gallon in the KC metro, down from $3.15/gallon one year ago and down from the high of $4.69/gallon in July of 2022.
We're heading in the right direction but we're never gonna see consumer prices (when adjusted for core inflation since 2020-2024) back to pre Covid-19 pricing. The 25-30% inflation during the illegitimate regime's reign of terror was the price all Americans had to pay for installing Jotato as POTUS.

What kind of lie is this? There was a post in the OT like a week ago complaining about how high electricity bills gotten.
Electric is going up because of new projects. Missouri has the highest percentage of coal plants in the US. We are spending it on gas and Amren is looking into another Nuclear plant.

Eggs are still $4.97a dozen here, but Kleinpeter 2% Reduced Fat Milk, 1 Gallon is $6.22. It was over $7 per gallon a few weeks ago.
Triscuit Thin Crisps are $3.22 per box. I was paying over $5 per box a few weeks ago. My kids can eat about 3 or 4 boxes per week and at least one family box of cheezits. Trust me, groceries are noticeably cheaper recently. At least down here.

Joe Biden gave green energy projects billions of dollars in federal loans and halted oil and gas drilling on federal lands. And while record gas prices during the Biden administration were a result of global supply chains, the president's rhetoric toward domestic oil producers discouraged investment and didn't help to alleviate costs.
This mistake isn't just made at the federal level. States have also imposed laws mandating that a certain level of energy come from renewable sources or outlawing certain energy technologies outright. In California, renewable energy mandates and a ban on building new nuclear power plants, which are carbon-free, have hurt grid reliability and raised costs for consumers. The state has turned to natural gas peaker plants and electricity imports from other states to supplement its renewable-heavy grid.

Feel compelled to point out that the chart only goes back to Oct 2024 and the scale is merely a 2pt swing.
Doesn’t mean that good things aren’t happening, it’s just a loaded pov. Keep in mind that grocery cost changes usually require 60 days notice outside of core commodities like beef/milk/eggs.

The hard numbers show the facts: Trump has fixed the economy. People are loving the prices on their groceries, and he will continue to fight to keep them down. Folks are spending money and making money, the economy is soaring.
I thought this was sarcasm at its finest, until I continued to read your posts. Oh boy......

I’m not sure that our Great Value milk has ever been over $4.25
We have a Schreiber Cheese manufacturing plant about 5 miles from my house and I get all my sliced and shredded cheese from the employee store. I have friends that work there and they buy it for me. The price hasn’t changed in 15 years.

What on Earth is Truflation?
In simple layman terms, as opposed to what Biden and his 17 Nobel prize winning Economist’s whom were always sending him letters in the mail, it actually factors in the cost of fuel and goods/groceries into the equation.

Truflation gathers data from over 30 data sources and 13 million data points on domestic goods and services.

If this is the first time someone has heard of truflation and their metrics, then it’s wise to set this one out because you don’t know wtf you’re talking about.

Normal box of cereal was $3 at Dollar General last week. Big box was $4.
My groceries from this weekend were cheaper. I was expecting to pay $80 more than I did.
It's probably a case of people seeing what they want to see.
Posted on 4/1/25 at 12:58 pm to Boomer Rick
Just to clarify, I think Truflation is quality.

Damn, yo kids go through that many crackers that fast, you need to feed them hardtack.
This'll slow them brats, and help to keep you out of the poor house.
Ingredients – Hardtack Recipe
2 Cups – All Purpose Flour – Do not use self-rising flour
3/4 Cup – Water
1 1/2 Teaspoons – Salt – Optional
