Yeah .... it's completely changed the battlefield for troops.

However, whenever this kind of thing comes along in weaponry, historically speaking, they'll find a way to counter it.

It'll probably lead to shoulder fired EMP pulse rifles or something.

I’m just posting to see the Boise State team logo twice in one thread.

The Star Wars sand people celebration there at the end was a nice surprise

Go broncos. Go tigers. Hope neither of us ever finds ourself south of town with drones flying around.

That rhymes.

They used bird shot out of the shotguns and apparently left the plug in so they had 3 shots.

Instead of 7 or 8 shot if they used 3 or 4 shot and took the plug out they may have had better luck.

DARPA probably already has a shoulder fired drone defender coming on line.

It looks a lot harder than shooting skeets.

Get off the fantasy EMP crap.

New defense technologies are rapidly developed in small manufacturing facilities across America.

EMP slows rapidly because of earth and air friction.

Look for the folks in the home garage using Radio Shack old inventory.

Like shooting teal in the early morning, except the teal can now shoot back

Shotguns, birdshot and some training at the skeet range.

Most wingshooters would have a field day neutralizing these drones.

Yeah, singular small drone attacks would likely be rare in a real combat scenario. Swarms would be the tactical ideal when attempting to breach or undermine enemy lines or just demoralize them. Looks like 'Skynet' is the future.

This is fricking retarded, they are using a high speed FPV drone and pretending it has the ability to kill somebody.

STFU Elon.

I don't know why ground troops do not use some sort of portable jamming device.

I used to fly rec drone around the Miss Gulf Coast and if you got to close to Keesler it would just drop out of the sky. Dead.

The President travels with this capability so you're not flying drones anywhere near him.

I'd be shocked if US troops didn't have this technology on their deployments.

Maybe a POTUS says "if this is used against our soldiers, we will nuke you".

Then the games, at tremendous expense to the American taxpayer, are over.

I've been hearing that the drones being used in Russia and the Ukraine are now jam-proof.

Was told this morning that they're coming out with counter drone measures using EMP stuff .... but drones can be hardened to resist certain wavelengths.

So, I dunno.

Back to the OP's video ... they're trying to use shotguns and bolo shells and all this other stuff but I think drones are going to be especially tough to deal with for the immediate future ... especially if they become autonomous.

Drones can be flown via fiber optic cable, so signal jamming doesn't do much.
