It was. That's why Trump fixed it to make it more beautiful than ever.

Does the warranty cover dumping 100s or 1,000s of gallons of hydrogen peroxide in on a brand new coating?

Lmao. You can tell who does construction and who doesn’t. Half the people commenting that is was sabotage also probably pay $600 a square and $800 a pier.

Their conclusion was the surface wasn’t sanded prior to application. But more importantly, they applied a plaster sealant used for pools instead of a concrete sealant, which they also didn’t allow to cure before filling with water.

Lmfao! Good thing it was a properly vetted no bid contract.

UPDATE: Leftists are REPEATEDLY vandalizing President Trump's Reflecting Pool, Scott Jennings NAILED IT

"You have people that hate Donald Trump so much that they would go out and destroy our national monuments vandalize Lincoln Memorial vandalize the grass. That's how broken brain they are!"

"Donald Trump has cleaned up Washington. The fountains work. The city is clean. The city is safe. It's good that he has taken an interest in this. And you have these people out here who are so broken brain about the fact that he's the president that they're spending their time vandalizing all this stuff!"

"I think it's terrible. And I hope anybody who vandalizes our monuments. I hope they get caught. I hope they get put in jail. He's trying to make the city beautiful for America 250. There's going to be a lot of people in Washington. They deserve to go to a clean, safe capital. And that's what he's trying to do!"

This is a legitimate criticism and the first thing that makes me question the contractor selected in a no-bid job.

If people on this board really cared about political corruption there would be more outrage about a no-bid contract handed to a political crony that proved to be both overpriced and incompetent.

Instead there will be more conspiracy theories blaming left wing vandalism. Somehow brown people, trannies, or immigrants will be the problem.

Not so much the issues with the pool, but the issues following a no bid contract to company isn’t great.

By comparison to geopolitical topics it’s not very news worthy imo

Don't say this to loud or the guy who just ran for Kenner mayor will punch the air and go off on a ten minute rant about no-bid contracts.

The project went no bid due to the bureaucracy of the federal bidding process. There wasn’t a scenario where it could have gone up for open bid and be ready for the semi-quincentennial. So they go with a “trusted” contractor.

So like many things in DC, one bad policy leads to more bad policy, which leads to politicized finger pointing, and the beat of dysfunction goes on.

It won't change any votes, but the left is having one hell of a good time with this.

Yes, the military frequently awards "no-bid" contracts, legally referred to as sole-source contracts. While competitive bidding is standard practice, the Department of Defense issues billions of dollars in non-competitive deals each year

You know the department with an 850 billion, thats billion budget.

And all you can complain about is 14 million.........

It usually takes three months to even think about awarding a government contract from bid date.
