re: In Montreal, you can’t have a Christian singer have a worship service in a Church

SlowFlowPro
Are all LEO negligent?

So, whatever event meets those variables (they differ by jurisdiction) faces the permitting regs. Churches don't get to be excepted from the universal application of the permitting law b/c it's a church. They have to abide by all other generally-applicable laws.

Yes.

You literally replied to my post about how it all depends on Sean Feuchts sincerity by saying you don’t think he is
Yeah, as in I think he's lying about this being a "worship service".
That has literally nothing to do with the sincerity involved in the religious practice. As I said in another post, I think he's a charlatan (see above), but he clearly checks the sincere box.
Proof

No y'all have. I keep telling y'all that isn't an issue.

You can’t define worship service or concert.

What is legally incorrect about what I said?

Why are churches allowed to have these SAME EVENTS all over the place every week?
I don't know that they are, I don't even know if you're talking about Canada, Europe or the US.

Why did this ONE get interrupted?
SFP posted the answer on page 1. It appeared to be a political concert that a church was trying to circumvent the permitting process for.
But this claim:
quote:
In Montreal, you can’t have a Christian singer have a worship service in a Church
Is still totally unsupported, and yet no one ITT is really pursuing that exaggeration except SFP.
You may not like the guy, and he may be an a-hole, but no one is really countering his argument rationally and supporting the assertion in the OP.

But I can.
But it's irrelevant for this discussion, as the authorities already made that call
Now, I know y'all want to have the discussion following up that comment, and that's what this has always been, but the funny thing is if OP and the social media posts had just been honest about all of this, then that would be the discussion. But we're stuck on purported Christains promoting lying. It's sad.

That's because they really want to have have a discussion about supposed Christian persecution
They're just dealing with the details now of how we got there and trying to gloss over all the dishonesty

No. He’s sure that he’s right.
Now he’s desperately trying to find his way through a semantic maze to prove it.
It’s a Michael Scott kind of “Sometimes I'll start a sentence and I don't even know where it's going. I just hope I find it along the way.”

this is legit permit regulation enforcement on an even handed basis
THAT is a completely different discussion
Oh really? So now that you've defended the actions of the city, what are your thoughts on the actions of the city?

You faux conservatives only have yourselves to blame for things like this. This is what "back the blue no matter what" gets you. A fricking police state.

Why don't you look up the law in Montreal?

It is for you the single most important distinction. It’s the basis for your defense of the Montreal government.
And, you can’t.

The same as all similar events/performances who require permits in that locality.
I think the point you're ignoring is that likely still comes up zero.
A bar that has live music on Saturday night doesn't have to get a permit for each Saturday, right?
What would make sense to me is that permits are required when your event is going to tax public infrastructure - traffic, parking, and security. But if your event, whether in a church or bar or school gymnasium, is SOP - I doubt you need a permit.
