The rats thought the Pied Piper was their savior also. How did that work out?

Correct. And I should have added that his philanthropy is undeniable. He’s done good things with his money. In making my point, I ignored that.
On the flip side Trump has given away millions to NAACP, Boys and Girls Clubs, schools in NY, bailed out tons of people in trouble, but is still an evil Nazi to half the world.
It’s a team sport, stupid as it may be.

Gates’s foundations host worldwide competitions to develop and fund the most promising programs to help third world countries. Trump’s foundations are actually prohibited from operating currently because they were just a tax avoidance slush fund.
These two guys aren’t in the same ballpark, philanthropically

I specifically didn’t mention the Trump foundation. I said money out of his own pockets. Going after Trump on his charity giving is a bad idea. Ask Maddow.
I’m not saying he’s in the same stratosphere as Gates. Gates’ giving is otherworldly.
I’m saying Trump has given millions to charities over his life and he’s still a Nazi to the left. Gates has done a lot of good with billions and he’s a Bilderberg lizard to the right.

I certainly don’t agree with many of his political views, but the fact is that he has donated more time and money to humanitarian causes than literally any other human who has ever lived. He has directly saved or extended, at a minimum, hundreds of thousands of human lives in his life.
To argue he has been a net negative to humanity is the height of absurdity.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

quote:Gates donated half of his wealth to charity and pledged 90% of the remainder ... in order to avoid paying tens of billions in taxes to the country that made him wealthy. Instead he's offshoring those billions to foundations his family will supervise for generations outside of US control. Boofrickingwho!
Then after donating half of your wealth to charity and pledging 90% of the remainder

Trump says that tax avoidance is the smart thing to do. Is it less smart for Gates to do this?

No but don't make him out to be some mother fricking messiah for doing it.

Most of Trump’s tax avoidance comes from creative accounting to create paper losses or by using bankruptcy. Gates’ tax avoidance has helped millions of people.
I think it’s fair to look at results and scale when we’re talking about this stuff. The Gates foundation is responsible for funding billions of dollars of public health. The Trump foundation has paid to settle Trump business suits and purchase paintings of Trump. Trump is literally one of the least charitable billionaires on the planet.

That is a lie because all sorts of people say otherwise.
Gates is doing nothing but buying good press.

All that and still being owned by China? Must hurt him.

I just clicked to give you a downvote. I didn't read your post. I just know that any thread title that contains "LOL" or "LMAO" is normally shite.

Until he got called to the carpet for baking the pledge to a veterans group during the campaign, Trump went literally years without making a single cash donation personally. All his charitable giving was either through his foundation, which he didn’t donate to since 2008, or in-kind donations from his businesses (like free rounds of golf)
Pre-politics in 2011, the Smoking Gun called him out on this reputation LINK
