First, I think you have an exaggerated sense of the actual number of illegal aliens … and almost certainly the number of “gang members”.
Second, regardless, none of that excuses ignoring of the Constitution

What type of person illegally enters a country, allegedly has been a law biding and productive member of society for over 20 years and they still haven't worked towards becoming a US citizen or learning the English language?
A lot of these illegals have had plenty of time to get their situation sorted out but instead they had no desire to truly assimilate into US society/culture and get their US citizenship.
