Everything you just said is mindless blather.

Just admit it, if you choose B, then it should be allowed because deep down you know it would increase the odds for your child to survive instead of being a defenseless lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

Are you really going to try to tell me that if any of the teachers at the recent shooting would have been armed, it would have made no difference?
I would be willing to say it would have been more likely that it wouldn't have made a difference.

The chances are low that a teacher carrying was in the proximity of the shooting, was able to first make sure his/her students was safe, then prepared the weapon for engagement, engaged, and then did it effectively before it was all done.

That's a lot of specific things that have to happen perfectly, especially for people who aren't trained (like SWAT) for that situation and would also have other priorities (ensuring his/her students' safety) that would take priority.

The main thing people need to realize that these are extemely rare events, even if one is too many.

You didn’t understand what I was saying. I was saying if I were a teacher in the room, I would do whatever I had to do to barricade myself and my students in the room until we know the outside is secure.

I have a great fear of hearing shots in the hallway while being given an easy way to eat outside with another shooter or two or three in the woods waiting on us to exit.

If I’m packing Nobody is coming in or out of the room. We are barricading ourselves in and not leaving until wet know the outside is secure then we are crawling out windows.

Sucks that we’ll never know if it would have made a difference because we saw fit to disarm those teachers without any good reason.

"It wouldn't hurt and could help" is a fine argument.

"the answer is arming the teachers" is a different argument entirely

You are a complete moron if you actually believe that. You are exactly what’s wrong with America.

So realistically, are we talking about requiring teachers to be armed or merely allowing them to arm themselves if they wish?

If the latter, which seems far more likely, then yes, I think there is a close to zero chance it would have made any difference.
Okay dickhead, enough of the bullshite hypotheticals.

If the fricking coach that took a bullet for his students would have been armed, do you think there would have possibly been a different outcome?

I've told you multiple times that I don't have a problem with allowing teachers to carry.

All I'm saying is that, it's unlikely that the event would ever occur, and even if it did, that it actually had any effect. If it makes people feel safer then great, but that doesn't mean it actually does in the end.

So if they want to do it, then fine, but pretend this is some solution to a problem that may not actually have a universal solution.

They're Black Swan events, and most if not all solutions intended to prevent Black Swan events doesn't prevent them, they're mostly for comfort:

Well since he was a security officer, then maybe, but there is a good chance he would have protected the students first anyways.

But I do think it would make more sense, and potentially more effective to have SROs trained to respond. More effective than teachers.

While I think you're normally guided by emotions, that's a great point.

I commend you and drink a toast in your honor!

To be honest with you, 95% of the teachers that I know would have the same or higher chance of shooting themselves rather than a gunman.

Could you imagine FB in late July / early August? "How am I supposed to afford all these bullets on a teacher's salary?!"

I get the point but I think a lot of teachers are unstable. Not sure if I want them having a firearm

You just can’t let the female teachers have a firearm, just imagine all the children they’d be forcing to sleep with them then?!?!

The kids aren’t smart enough to care. They don’t have a clue what’s really going on in the world. They are too caught up in their trivial day to day struggles. They are real struggles but they don’t have a concept of consequences.

Teachers are the ones you should really feel sorry for. They would have to watch the entire massacre unfold and could do absolutely nothing to stop it because of idiotic policies from state and local school officials.

Guns and ammo would be purchased with school funds handed down from the federal government.

If teachers are going to have access to weapons in schools they absolutely have to be fully trained. Nearly the level of police officers. If they aren’t going to get trained the. It’s a terrible idea. A carry permit doesn’t cut it.

We've seen reports where teachers shielded students with their bodies. Those teachers deserve the best seats in heaven, if there is one.

I'd rather see reports of teachers shooting back, and eliminating SCUM.

A firearm is a tool, just like a pencil, a ruler, or a square. ONE teacher with a firearm could have rid us all of this piece of shite who will now live the next 20 years in prison, with good meals, a decent bed, and most likely internet.

By the time Florida kills him, people will have forgotten who the hell he is. Kill him NOW. He confessed. Show people crimes have repercussions.
