I wouldn't

I have no problem with the ban of bump stocks. They are made for no other reason than to make your semi-auto fire as fast as a full auto.

Ban the AR15 or like semi-auto weapons and I won't be turning mine in.

Just wondering. What are your thoughts on belt loops and shoe strings?

The best best bump stock was the original Akins Accelerator for a 10/22 which had a spring assist. The ATF originally approved it for sale then a a few months later declared it a machine gun and required all owners to turn in the spring

I’m not commenting on the legislation or the implications. Just genuinely curious why people would even have it.

Besides doing cool shite and playing around, the express purpose is to kill as many human beings as possible in an efficient manner. Now is a bump stock the best route? Not sure I don’t persomally believe so, but I do know the main purpose of the second amendment is the right bear arms to kill human beings, specifically to kill members of a tyrannical government and their agents.

Here's a link to the legislative documents if anyone is interested. It looks like the they are acheiving this through re-interpreting the terms "automatically" and "single function of the trigger"

IIRC, the Justice Dept. under Sessions could find no legal basis in existing law to ban bump stocks, and refused to regulate them.

Sessions gone, bump stock say "adios" faster than rat-a-tat-tat. So there's that.

(By the way, Trump has been pushing this for a while.)

So... what’s the problem with people being able to own full auto in the first place?

We just need bump stock sanctuary states or for states to legalize them in spite of federal law. It has worked for illegal aliens and marijuana.

It ain’t just bump stocks, anti gun activists want semiautomatic weapons banned too.

I’ve heard these anti gun fricks on various talk shows making their case for banning all guns except bolt action and revolvers and really they don’t want you having those either.

What's the problem with people owning nuclear weapons?

I think there are reasonable restrictions to the type of weapons that individuals own.
I happen to think that fully automatic weapons fall in the realm of reasonable restrictions.

I also think that Semi-Auto weapons can fulfill the role and reason we have a 2nd Amendment. In order to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government.

But full-auto firearms are completely legal for civilians to own.

So semi-auto firearms are sufficient to fight against our own government, but full-auto firearms are to dangerous?

We need common sense gun control.

Repeal the 1934 NFA.

Well clearly you aren't interested in having a reasonable discussion, since we're discussing automatic weapons and you rely on the appeal to absurdity of nuclear weapons. But to answer your questions, how would the average person go about possessing nuclear weapons? If it was legal to possess, how many people do you think would be boasting of their nuclear weapon stashes?

Cool, your definition of reasonable is subjective and shouldn't be used to restrict the constitutional rights of millions of other law-abiding Americans.

You think, doesn't jive with shall not be infringed.

You have still provided any basis for automatic weapons being classified as NFA items. Which is funny, because they aren't illegal, just expensive and time consuming to acquire. At this point, the only people who can't possess automatic weapons are the poor.
