Nope just an empty suit with a huge team of writers who poll the base and write speeches on what they think their idiots want to hear. None that will be followed once in office as he has a private contract with the oligarchy who bank rolls him and owns him, just like Biden

But, he's not spending like Biden on bull shite socialist programs and climate bull shite. FFS, be honest.

It doesn't matter. When 2024 rolls around the Democrats will use this message.

Trump deficits
2017 - high
2018 - bigger
2019 - bigger than 2018
2020 - blowout

DeSantis won't have this problem.

This isn't about me. I'll vote for Desantis (as it stands now) if he's the nominee. This is about the Trump base. Desantis is running for president.

Desantis needs to be making his case on those issue. Instead, he's going the old school social conservative route.

You mean like he's been doing as governor for 4 years? He hasn't just talked about it, he's done it.

The path forward is the guy who builds on Trump's work and takes what we believe to the American people with clear - often devastating - explanations and takedowns of why conservatism is good for their families, career, communities and wallet.

What every conservative has always wanted has arrived. Unfortunately, there is a very good chance they'll go for the snake oil again.

Believing that the GOP will prop a candidate up and allow him to govern conservatively is truly the definition of buying snake oil. I've seen that movie over and over and over again. I know how it ends.

Sorry. I want the guy who is elected president to be running the show. I don't want it to be the people behind the scenes. If you can't tell that Desantis is being controlled, then you are willfully blind.

While true, context matters. This decision was driven by the WHO, CDC etc. MOST of the world wasn’t aware of the insidious nature of these organizations. Hindsight is 2020.

Then he started the “giveaway money to try to get re-elected” plan. And it didn’t work.

This too, was a frick up by Trump, although the motivation for the decision is probably more nuanced than “to get re-elected.”

That being said, Reagan also had some MAJOR frick ups that have had devastating effects.

No candidate is perfect.

Not Reagan.
Not Trump.
Not DeSantis.

Of course it matters. Trump didn't act in his interest in doing that. He didn't plan to do it. He was "forced" into it.

It's obviously a dishonest argument. What the GOP did from 2000 on has been much, much worse.

Sure. I knew it at the time, though (I think I even posted it here). And I’d like to have a President with at least equal perspicacity to myself. It seems like a pretty low bar, honestly.
