There are reports (probably false) that there was a potential assassination attempt on Trump when he was recently in Turkey. They allegedly decoyed him being on AF-1 and moved him to ti military plan in a service truck.

In fairness to the Iranians, we took out their leadership and Trump is CIC. That’s a legit target.
To the question on the table, I don’t think Vance does anything extraordinary. We aren’t nuking Tehran. Response would be deemed “proportional”. That said, I’m not even sure who is running that country at the moment and don’t know who we would target.

If Iran can assassinate the US president, then they can assassinate any world leader. There are rules, and assassinating any leader of a first-world nation, especially the US president, would be a violation of those rules.
Iran would have to be made an example of, and most first-world nations would join in to do so, regardless of whether those leaders like Trump or not.
It would be a full-scale war with boots on the ground from multiple nations, and Iranian leadership and military would be wiped out.

The reporters that put this story out are more doing it to be salacious, and complain they were used in the suddenly made decoy plane.

If another country assassinates a sitting president of the US, I don’t think you have any choice but respond with full force. Nearly every country in the world would support.

Honestly, any country that assassinated a sitting US president deserves a response proportional to taking out the leader if the free world. If that's dropping nuke on Tehran, then that's what it is, but the new president should make it clear that the only way it doesn't happen is the immediate and complete surrender and full dismantling of their military similar to what we did with Japan. The time to negotiate would be over. It's either that, or this...

There's a dolt that owns a home brew business in my state who offered free beer on the day it happens. He was/is being dealt with appropriately by everyone including the general public.
