If Republicans keep control of one or both chambers, is polling finally dead?

I’m not jumping ahead or making conclusions, just asking a question.

In a land of no one answering their phone to strangers or spam, and throwing away junk mail, I just don’t see how it works anymore.

No.

It's an industry.

If the Republicans keep both, someone is going to have to double the operators on the suicide hotline.

Dead as in stops? No.

Dead as in the media quits breathlessly reporting all of them? Also no.

Dead as in no one answers and they are a laughing stock on election day? Probably

People will still take a look at them and watch the "news" to see what they are saying. Many of us on the right just know that they are mostly BS.

I see polling as the local weather forecast. Hardly ever right yet people continue to pay attention to them and repeat what they say.

2024 should have broken that industry based on how wrong they were, but they're still kicking. So I'm going to say they're safe.

To reasonable people it should be the msm will keep pumping them.

If Paxton wins it should also end the blue Texas nonsense we have heard for 20 years

Pollings been dead. When one political party will talk to literally anyone who asks about every political opinion they've ever considered and the other political party refuses to participate in any way whatsoever you cant have effective polling. Its just something for the talking heads to discuss.

So when the polls showed Republicans up 2.5 in the generic ballot in 2022, were the polls trying to keep democrats home then?

The tactic can be used both ways.

Not saying it was, I’m just saying if your side has a really good feeling and jump on it both sides could use this to dissuade.
