He hasn't been formally charged, but with all of his baggage it would be hard to win a slander suit if the women just sticks to her story.

He hasn't officially dropped out yet. He has until the 13th otherwise he is on the ballot as the primary winner.
I would laugh so hard if he were to renege on his pledge to drop out.
He should tell them to scratch and stay in it. Make the commie bastards flip flop again.

I just think that if you’re going to make that accusation then it needs to move into some sort of legal proceeding to either criminalize him or vindicate him at the least. Can’t just say, “there was a rape” and then just shuffle along like nothing happened.

If he stays in the race and disputes the charges, does he get hit with a defamation claim?
Only if he's orange.

What year is it?! Not on my calendar - on yours….? Wait I wanna play some tiddlywinks with it, guessing game.
I’m guessing your calendar left off at ‘82. No silly, 1982, not 1882. Scratch that, switching to ‘88, and this time I do mean 1888. I kid again. Seriously though, your premise is quite heavily flawed, especially for how short it is. Counterpoint 1: having touched on it above, seriously this time I would point out that in present day times, yes, it’s routine for rape allegations to be leveled, many, many times with no practical resolution of the truthfulness or not of the accusations/charges. Counterpoint 2: to use a pop culture trope, that’s not how it works, that’s not how any of this works. In other words, that’s not how it works - the criminal justice system, criminal court process and related procedural requirements, that is.

did Eric Swalwell get a check down over there in California for his doing same?

When they send in the rape accusation, its to get you out, mostly by your own side
Exactly. Now that he has dropped out, no charges will be pursued and the people who backed him during that campaign up until this week will act as if he never existed.

I should have said that the system shouldn’t work like it does now. We shouldn’t allow someone to make an egregious accusation and then nothing come of it.

What? Are you just glossing over the part where he was accused... by a woman?

And certainly that’s not an unreasonable notion to subscribe to. But I’m saying neither is it an unreasonable notion that the fully Democrat controlled state - radical Democrat prosecutors with literal African hyena rabies all foaming at the mouth, particularly the ones who would be deciding whether and what charges to bring against him (oh, and with probably just a tad (lol) of input from Democrat high rollers and shot callers), all hypothetically speaking of course, certainly would not have any moral or principled qualms about squashing him like bug.
Let’s say they were to communicate to him “Drop out or you will regret it,” and he were to tell them to bugger off, IMO it wouldn’t be all that difficult for them, under the relevant and current circumstances, to force him by criminal prosecution extortion.

I can’t say I disagree. For sure I don’t.

Some news sources say he hasn't dropped out and could step right back in. If his supporters want him to.

He really shouldn't. If he does it's tantamount to admitting guilt.

A charge is not proof of a crime.
Dropping out though.
Dropping out though.

I agree.
Screw the DNC and stay in the race.
Or
Stay in the race and screw the DNC.
