If Platner isn’t being criminally charged for rape, he shouldn’t drop out

If the claims are true, he should be charged with rape. In Maine you’ve got 20 years to be charged, so his accuser should either charge him w rape claims or he should stay in the race.

Well
He's not calling the shots on that deal
When they send in the rape accusation, its to get you out, mostly by your own side

Accusations are functional convictions in these cases. They know he can’t win even if he might be innocent

Civil suit rape convictions are totes cool

Bro, him dropping or not dropping out is far more a matter of inner party politics than it is anything else, by quite a long shot. Practically and realistically speaking.

when the check clears, he will drop out

I can assure you Maine has a Soros type DA that won't bring any charges to any minority or Democrat.

I certainly get the merit of that reference. However, as a anecdotal point in counter, and when you think about it, it just makes you think, did Eric Swaywell get a check down over there in California for his doing same? Seems to me they pretty much manhandled him out of the thing, whether he liked it or not. So they appear to have the ability and needless to say willingness to be ruthless in this type situation if they choose. Thus, I’m not convinced this goon has even any significant leverage to completely dig in. I feel if Dem enforcers decide he will no longer be the nominee, full stop, it’s going to happen. Them sob’s liable to plant a dead body on you.

He already got many many checks

If he stays in the race and disputes the charges, does he get hit with a defamation claim?
Posted on 7/10/26 at 2:38 pm to Lsujacket66
My guess is that there are things we are not privy to and they are protecting him by allowing him to drop out.

She needs to file a formal complaint. Then it's up to the D.A. whether he wants to charge him.

Maybe he isn't being charged BECAUSE he is dropping out.

You think? On memo line saying “for his agreement to drop out of the race and remove himself as a likely impediment to Democrat victory”? “Many many” of them?? Immmmmm not so sure about that.
I kid, I kid. But seriously I got the sense that it was more of a blackmail or extortion-esque situation.

Of course it was blackmail. Drop out or the dirt (fang fang cash) comes out.

If he blatantly disobeys the wishes of The Party, they’ll bury him.
We will hardly even remember this screwball’s name 4 years from now they’ll bury him so deep.

Thank you for starting this thread. This has to be the way for all these bullshite accusations going forward and by God, if he’s found innocent then that woman needs to be charged/fined/sued. I’m not saying he’s innocent or guilty, but we can’t continue to operate this way. I don’t care if you’re a Repub or a Dem, this is RETARDED. 99% of these accusations are going to leveled against men from women. I’m scratching my head a little bit that more people aren’t recommending this. Also, he’s a bitch for dropping out.

Leverage comes in many forms.
He is also probably getting a safety net payout to keep his mouth shut.
He hasn't officially dropped out yet. He has until the 13th otherwise he is on the ballot as the primary winner.
I would laugh so hard if he were to renege on his pledge to drop out.
