The left and right are intermingled in our country.

Uhauls are available in both red and blue states (although they’re usually more expensive in the red states because more people move there).

Bottom line, if politics define someone’s life enough to be impacted by a split they can move if it doesn’t they can continue posting on their social media accounts and ignore it.

But we’re getting close to bad outcomes politically and if we have to choose between some people moving or kinetic political violence I think the choice is pretty clear.

It's either that or we're gonna need to stack 30-40 million bodies. One or the other.

The United States has a flyspeck history.

Hell, Germany is younger than the US and has been to war with France 3 times.

No! That is exactly what globohomo wants to happen. Much easier to pick off once we split. We are going through tough times, but we need to stick together because people are waking up to what's going on here.

I mean, if I could slow the impacts of time (aging) on my body to half speed, where a minute on the clock only affects me as though I experienced 30 seconds, then have I slowed the aging process, or reversed it?

That depends on how far you can take it, but that's a bad example as we have no real data on legit age reversal, while population transfers are fluid. You used a 1-way street example and we're discussing a 2-way street scenario.

One way?

In terms of population, is California seeing a net influx, or exodus?

People would have to forcibly move in similar numbers to what happened then

All throughout the US, even in major cities, many neighborhoods swing strongly one way or another. The reality is the right wing holds the physical power (look up gun ownership rates, hunting licenses etc). They have to move if they want a political divorce, the weak do not get to dictate terms

I think it *could* be done. The newly declared nation-states would no doubt operate as they have been, I doubt a democrat type would be run out on a rail in a conservative area or anything.

People live mostly where they like to now, and those that don't, well they move all the time.

Even with blends of red, blue and purple... a smaller holding would be better represented, better governed and more cohesive.

The USA is too big.

I understand

I just think that's sort of like some marriages end in amicable divorce there's no reason this couldn't be the same.

Nah, Balkanization didn't even work in the Balkans. Why would it work here?

it would look a lot like this from space - in about 6 months -

and we all know who'd have the light on - and which one's would be bitching trying to invade where the lights are on - blaming others because their lights are off -

You could have extreme violence in the meantime. You could look at the Balkans and aside from Montenegro and Slovenia you've had death and violence preceeding along with atrocities. Like Bosnia and Kosovo and eve Croatia to a lesser extent. Look at the partition of India, that wasn't pretty in any context. Southern Sudan....ugly.

They don't understand that. A lot of these people just want an excuse to kill people they dislike.
