because if he talks, he will either:
A) incriminate himself by lying again - not protected by his pardon.
B) announce to the world that he is a lying piece of shite.
This is the only realistic play for him.

legally, you can't plead the 5th for something you have been pardoned for.

I was under the impression that if one is immune from prosecution, then you cannot legally plead the fifth. Maybe that is only in courtroom settings.

I can say that fear of committing perjury is not a valid reason to take the 5th (SCOTUS has ruled on that). So you can't just roll in there and say "I will plead the 5th because telling the truth would make me look bad." No, you must answer the questions if you are already pardoned and face no risk of prosecution for past crimes.
So I assume his lawyers would argue he plead the 5th because state charges could still be out there.

I’m curious if that pardon is legit since it occurred before any crimes had been identified, investigated or charged.
