The pardon does not cover the things that he did after the pardon. He needs to be held accountable for everything he did...before and after.

A federal pardon removes the risk of self-incrimination for federal crimes. So he can't use the Fifth for those questions. But he could still claim it for state crimes. The pardon backfired in that sense, it may force him to testify.

If this was all true, then he would have no issues answering questions.

What if the honest answer to the question a witness pleads the 5th to would provide the examining attorney with information that could be used to incriminate the witness for something that wasn’t covered under a pardon?
