We have scientific definitions for a reason. They include counseling, doctor consultations, etc.

It's a "scientific" definition that originated 20 years ago, only gained popularity about 10 years ago (largely among the activist class) and isn't anywhere close to universal adoption in 2018.

It's a term fueled largely by social movement, not by medicine.
