How would people react? How would the church react?

I tend to think 95% or more of the modern Christian Church would not be aligned with his world view. They would outright reject his teachings, and cast him and anyone associated out. The world would not be able to handle the truth, and unfortunately he would likely meet a similar fate he received 2000 years ago. But I hope I am wrong.

I can’t imagine many people are going to up and follow some Arab guy claiming to be the Son of God, regardless of if/when that happens.

Considering when he came the first time the Jews had him executed for being a “false prophet” I would expect a similar outcome.

That part always seemed unreasonably harsh to me.

God: “so eventually I’m going to send my Son back in the form of a human, but I won’t tell you when. Everyone who doesn’t accept that this human is the son of god because he said so is doomed to hell”

IF JC returned the same way he was born and murdered, the exact same thing would happen but in a much shorter time frame.

Imagine our God sending his only son to die for us so we can have eternal happiness.. just to see it all for "not".

I know way more non believers than believers, and you don't see God in anything or anywhere anymore. It truly is sad.

But he knew this would happen.

Church would denounce him and call for him to be arrested.

Western countries would label him a dangerous terrorist.

If he actually walks on water and does other magical shite... our establishment will capture and dissect him..

The shite our establishment will do to him, will make the crucifixion seem like a tickle.

And it's not like he'd fight back. I think he'd still turn the other cheek. Thinking he only has to fight demons and shite, not humans.

That’s nothing compared to all the people in history that died without hearing anything about Jesus or Christianity. Sucks to be them

Kinda almost feels like the four horsemen are upon us now excluding the fire and hail storms . But there’s time for that later this month I guess . With all the homeless everywhere how would you tell the difference in rantings

Oooh. I forgot about that part. I take back what I initially said a couple posts earlier about him not doing shite and just turning the other cheek.

Threads about Religion do not belong on this forum. They belong on the OT.

Maybe once the rapture occurred, that would get some people's attention. Then the Tribulation, the 1000 year Reign of Christ, the final battle and Satan cast into the lake of fire.

So there will be signs indicating his coming. Jesus won't just show up on a street corner in Brooklyn and try to have a gospel meeting. He won't just show up on Trinity Network with a telethon.

Twitter and Facebook would ban him for violations of their terms of service. No one would know he existed.

95% seems high.

Make no mistake, I think 95% of us would be quite uncomfortable because we'd pretty quickly find that a lot of professing Christians are deifying other things (sports, politics, whatever) and have created our own semi-Christian/semi-secular/nationalistic/woke/anti-woke/etc. version of Christianity to adhere to.

So I think a lot of Christians would have to abandon things they've clung to very strongly. But I do think a fair percentage would do so. I think a fair number of those people know it now, but they (including me) struggle to break free of the other ideas/concepts/etc. we've meshed onto Christianity.
