If Destroya thought Lee Zurik freaked her out before with her policeman boy toy story.....

Now Zurik is going in for the kill shot. He's doing nothing short of accusing da mayor of malfeasance and public bribery by causing the city to breach its trash collection contracts so that she could award those contracts to her political donors -- costing the city tens of millions of dollars.....

Lee Zurik with the money shot....

Zurik better have well armed guards and his head on a swivel cuz yuze don't f*cks wid a Compton sista like Destroya and live to talk about it.

And, still, nothing will happen.

She would still be reelected if the election was next week.

I get your point but Zurik has so many connections in the city that he’s essentially untouchable. There is a reason he’s going in dry on her. Lee gives zero fricks.

Nothing is going to change, she’d win re-election easily tomorrow, and the next mayor will be worse.

Another day, another Cantrell corruption story unveiled.

It's amazing how much bullshite she has been allowed to get away with. She's a horrendous leader who has done immeasurable damage to the city.

I’ve posted this before, but I’ll say it here again.

Zurik is more politically connected in the city than she is. There’s a reason all these stories are coming from him. They’re being fed to him by power players in the city who Latoya has finally pissed off enough.

He’s got nothing to worry about.

The only thing they can't hit is what their aiming at. I don't blame them. It's hard asf to hit a target with a pistol sideways

The city paid Metro $13.60 per home each month for twice-a-week garbage and recycling pickup. Under the new contract, IV Waste and Waste Pro are being paid about $22 dollars per home each month for once-a-week pickup. The contract that previously cost taxpayers about $11 million each year now costs $19 million a year.

Metro used to be connected. Last time we discussed them on the OT it was to ask why a garbage company was a lead contractor on the airport project.

Lee is just doing the same kind of investigative reporting that Richard Angelico did at Channel 8 many years ago. Richard went after everyone and nobody touched him. Lee is continuing his work and doing it well.

I think the Feds are going to get her on a couple of things but primarily the paying of the "stylist." I think the Feds are going to show that she was using campaign funds to buy all of her expensive clothes and fraudulently, charging them off as though she were paying the stylist. What the Feds are going to discover is that the stylist didn’t claim that money as income and was using that money to actually buy the clothes that Destroya instructed her to buy. The Feds are getting the "stylist" to roll on Destroya as we type.

Karen Carter Peterson just got 22 months for violating campaign finance laws. She officially went down for wire fraud. That’s how I think they’re going to get Destroya and I think she’ll do a lot more than 22 months.

From Lee Zurik's report last night, it doesn’t seem like Cedric Richmond is a fan of Latoya’s. And Latoya‘s only chance at this point is to either have some connections in D.C. so that she’s not prosecuted because of Biden administration political corruption, or, to get a very friendly Orleans Parish jury for her trial.

I despise the mayor but Help me understand this-

The city had contract with a garbage collection company that was doing a horrible job. People had their garbage sit on the curb for weeks without pickup . Haitian level service.

The city fires them.

The new garbage collection is generally considered better.

Now the original contractor claims they got fired because of shenanigans?!

I’m not following …

Just like Lee, you knew when Richard Angelico showed up at your door that you were basically F*CKED!

I always enjoyed watching Richard Angelico’s reporting. Having said that, I think Lee Zurik has brought it to a whole new level. Of course, a large part of that is due to the fact that Lee has greater technological resources.

It is 1000% believable that Destroya would make a decision that would threaten public health and quality of life for thousands of residents just to punish one person who supported her opponent. What a vindictive count.

... WELL , just "by chance" , Cantrell is in DC right now ...

You can wonder who's arms she is twisting

Maybe the same arms that got Jason Williams a "get out of jail" card for that IRS trial

They weren’t doing a horrible job. That was the point. The citizens they served were very happy with their job performance. The quality started to go down when the city refused to abide by the contract (under Destroya's orders) and pay them pursuant to the terms of the contract. When the city refused to pay them according to the terms of the contract, the quality of service went down because they didn’t have the money to keep up the quality. She literally bankrupted them because they supported her political opponent.
