I mean frick dude, you are "scared" of the idea of requiring a person to be 21 to buy a gun yet there is basically no national outrage by Republican politicians over other things that can't be done until you're 21.
The selective outrage is what I'm talking about. It makes you look ridiculous.
2 things
1) Unlike those other things you mentioned, firearms are explicitly cited in the bill of rights. The bill of rights is a precious document in American culture and governance. That puts the gun debate on a higher plane. I.e you might not even like guns or use them (that describes me), but you care deeply for the bill of rights and the proper ways of going about amending it.
2) You keep on saying that lack of support for gun control hurts republicans politically. The data we have clearly shows that gun control is a political loser. Polls show people support vague forms of "gun control", but when a state or national congress actually votes on policies, they become deeply unpopular and politicians get voted out. It has hurt far more politicians than it has helped. Look at the 2013 recall elections in colorado.

Not gonna allow the government to outgun the citizenry in the case it becomes tyrannical, can’t do it defies common sense basically 250 years ago we separated from an oppressive government that suppressed our gun rights with a gunpowder embargo on the colonies now we want to regress to the mean? In what galaxy does this logic make sense bro?

Everyone I know who owns one is a douche btw)
Maybe you should be more concerned about the company you keep than infringing on others constitutional rights.

If regulating the sale and ownership of guns is that scary to you then you may be a bit indoctrinated, considering how regulated everything else in our lives is. You would still be able to buy guns.
A voice of reason appears. Welcome to the thread.
From an intellectual point you still haven't presented anything that could withstand scrutiny.
Once again I challenge you to learn about the scope of these dastardly AR15 weapons AND EVERYTHING OUT THERE THAT WILL READILY take their place.
The AR15 would not be in the top 5 for me if were to engage a target rich environment.

I don't think its a small coincidence just about every person looking to commit mass murder gravitates to an assault rifle. I think a lot of theses douche bags would reconsider their actions if they were forced to use a shotgun, hand gun or bolt action / lever action rifle.
Has anyone mentioned the slippery slope?
Check out Australia if you want to see where your generalized proposal would take us.

how about assault weapons ban in exchange for constitutional carry allowed in all 50 states?
Posted on 2/16/18 at 1:37 am to Redbone
Did the OP ever define what an AR type weapon is?

How many lives would have been saved under your proposed AR ban at Columbine, Sandy Hook, or VA Tech?

I can carry in most states now.
There is legislation to carry in all 50 but I haven't kept up with it.

Australia is the most recent case.
Generally speaking the politicians only banned certain weapons to start with.
I don't know how many times their legislation got more restrictive but I hear they are going after the few that had qualified/justified having long guns that can shoot only 1 time before reloading.
One guy was prosecuted recently for using a hand gun to stop a home invasion.
He is in more trouble than the robber.

Enlighten us.
It's something I like to do.
I've been dealing with this subject since 1977.
That was before the "douchebags" were using the AR15s for hunting. BTW, My information says that Vietnam veterans are primarily responsible for the rise in popularity for using the AR15 for hunting. We used the M16 (fully automatic version) and liked them. A .223 is a common hunting round. Why not use a light gun to hunt with?
I would love to find solutions as much as anyone.
I've seen far too much death.
I want solutions, not more laws that only effect the people that have done nothing wrong.

The government already out guns the citizenry by a gigantic margin. Only fools think otherwise.

Veterans out number those on active duty. Veterans have guns.
Some active duty would go AWOL and join our side.
You aren't taking LEOs into consideration. etc.
You have it VERY wrong.

Awol? You're delusional. Armed revolt=domestic enemy. Personally, I would be LMFAO at video of "militia" being blown to mist and body parts by cluster bombs.
