Last year, my Sister in law and her husband moved to the Lake Watagua area. It’s clearly a very conservative area and they couldn’t be more progressive. They have BLM stickers on their cars. I can’t imagine them being able to fit in with the good folks of that beautiful area. They have absolutely no intention of even moderating their disgusting political and social views.
I applaud you for throwing your hat into the ring and winning. Stick to your principles no matter what. Don’t let people like my SIL and husband destroy your community.

Lots of retarded Republican politicians in Tn. There was nothing wrong with the way Hemp was sold in Tn. Didn’t stop them from sticking their paws in it anyway, probably for campaign contributions from the liquor industry. We just want to be left alone and they will never get it.

There is no way to coexist with these people like her. Can you imagine living with that 24/7? I don't know how it gets resolved, but it's not going to be peaceful. She needs professional help.

I really read this not only as a wake up call, but also a call to arms. Republicans especially at the smaller levels of politics really need to get serious about organizing and making sure people get to the polls. It shouldn't be that hard to do but we're so comfortable in our red area bubbles that it's just not important enough to us, but we need to be preparing now for 12 years down the road because things are changing quickly and if we're slow to act, it'll change without us even realizing it. Our actions today set the stage for the next election. That's why you see Democrats putting out candidates that can't win races now, so that people will remember having heard their name next time and will think they're familiar to them.

Congratulations on your election. Good luck in your term. My observation is that the talking points of federal politics have trickled down to local meetings making them much more contentious than years past. Rhetoric and sound bytes can be thrown around and personal attacks have been more common. I hope you don’t have to deal with that. Thank you for serving.
