Just amazing that these individuals were convicted for an armed assault on the House of Representatives while it was in session and yet their sentences are later commuted by President Carter in 1979. Incredible.

1954 Shooting in the House Chamber
quote:

On March 1, 1954, while Members gathered on the House Floor for an upcoming vote, three men and one woman entered the visitor’s gallery above the chamber and quietly took their seats. All four belonged to the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party and only hours earlier had traveled from New York City to Washington, DC.

The United States had annexed Puerto Rico in 1898, and the island’s relationship with the federal government had long been a point of contention. Some Puerto Ricans sought to maintain their relationship with the mainland, and others, like the four visitors in the House that day, argued for an independent Puerto Rico.

The Capitol had few security protocols at the time, and the four Puerto Rican nationalists entered the gallery armed with handguns. Around 2:30 p.m. they indiscriminately opened fire onto the House Floor and unfurled a Puerto Rican flag in a violent act of protest meant to draw attention to their demand for Puerto Rico’s immediate independence.

Five Congressmen were injured in the shooting. Wounded were Alvin Morell Bentley (R-Michigan), who took a bullet to the chest, Clifford Davis (D-Tennessee), hit in the leg, Ben F. Jensen (R-Iowa), shot in the back, as well as George Hyde Fallon (D-Maryland) and Kenneth A. Roberts (D-Alabama).

Members, House Pages, and police officers quickly helped detain three of the assailants outside the gallery, while the fourth escaped the Capitol and was apprehended later that afternoon.

Maybe the Jan 6 should only serve 20 year sentences.

I had never heard about this case. So people sneak into the Capitol, fire numerous rounds (hitting one guy in the chest) and Carter fricking pardons them? Wow.

This should be brought up every time a Democrat brings up J6.

I don’t struggle with it. Politicians should be scared of the citizens.

This is exactly right in this country that is how they should feel. It upsets me to hear all of the many spineless congressits that were there that day to claim martyrdim and actually attain sympathy from the advertised voices of the country. Consider what those people were there to protest. They were all there because WE ALL felt that this election was rigged and essentially stolen. The minute the media produced the blockbuster hollywood fiction hit of 2020 on January 7th, that entire plot was lost, forgotten, and eventually completely reversed. Truly the saddest day in our country's history. But not for the reason the re-written history will say. Not even close.

For what?

Five Congressmen were injured in the shooting. Wounded were Alvin Morell Bentley (R-Michigan), who took a bullet to the chest, Clifford Davis (D-Tennessee), hit in the leg, Ben F. Jensen (R-Iowa), shot in the back, as well as George Hyde Fallon (D-Maryland) and Kenneth A. Roberts (D-Alabama).

No members of Congress were hurt or even faced any violence. None.

How many BLM / Antifa thugs are still serving time for the Summer of Love festivities? Or May 29th riot?

You mean insurrection. 70 police officers injured that day. Fire bombing a church. Over running a guard shack on WH grounds. Dems made fun of POTUS being moved to WH bunker. Same ones making up stories about how they almost died in the capital attack.
