This past incident being much more violent and serious than Jan 6th, still doesn't qualify as a coup.
coup - a sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power from a government.
"he was overthrown in an army coup"
No power was ever taken, there was no plan to assume power. What is scarier than the demonstration at the Capitol, is the mindless idiots out there willing to believe any narrative given by the media. Americans not thinking for themselves or using any critical thinking is the issue today. My Dad told me long ago and I find it to be a irrefutable truth : Believe nothing you hear and only half what you see.
But what do I know, just and average guy

Of course. History barely remembers it and literally NOBODY ever considered it such.
Therein lies the point, I believe.

I remember both the incident and pardon.
it was not a coup attempt.
it was not part of seditious conspiracy either.
the pardon after 25 years in prison offended me at the time.
but there is zero correlation to j6.
there was no elected official egging them.on.
there was no cadre of Eastman Giuliani Et cetera organizing the fake electors.
a few guys with some agenda mainly to get attention for their pov. nowadays they would vent on their blog and get signatures.
I think they wanted independence.

Thanks for clearing that up.

A biased DC court just sentenced an ex NYC police officer to 10 years for hitting a Capitol police officer with a flag pole on J6…..meanwhile hundreds if not thousands of Antifa and BLM thugs who looted and burned businesses and assaulted people in cities across the US are still free men and women.

Bro, what about this one? And who dealt a pardon on it?

Maybe the Jan 6 should only serve 20 year sentences.
Because of all the people they shot too?

So are Joe and Hunter Biden going to do any time alongside them for child molestation and money laundering?

had never heard about this case. So people sneak into the Capitol, fire numerous rounds (hitting one guy in the chest) and Carter fricking pardons them? Wow. This should be brought up every time a Democrat brings up J6.
Clinton commuted the capitol bomber and many others.

Federal prosecutor Mary Jo White was appointed to investigate the pardon of Marc Rich. She was later replaced by James Comey, who found no illegality on Clinton's part.
Some familiar names
quote:
In March 2000, Bill Clinton pardoned Edgar and Vonna Jo Gregory, owners of the carnival company United Shows International, for charges of bank fraud from a 1982 conviction.
First Lady Hillary Clinton's youngest brother, Tony Rodham, was an acquaintance of the Gregorys, and had lobbied Clinton on their behalf. In October 2006, the group Judicial Watch filed a request with the U.S. Justice Department for an investigation, alleging that Rodham had received $107,000 from the Gregorys for the pardons in the form of loans that were never repaid, as part of a quid pro quo scheme.
quote:
Linda Evans and Susan Rosenberg, members of the radical Weather Underground organization, both had sentences for weapons and explosives charges commuted: Evans served 16 years of her 40-year sentence, and Rosenberg served 16 of her 58 years.
quote:
Almon Glenn Braswell was pardoned of his 1983 mail fraud and perjury convictions. In 1998 he was under federal investigation for money laundering and tax evasion charges. Braswell and Carlos Vignali each paid approximately $200,000 to Hillary Clinton's brother, Hugh Rodham, to represent their respective cases for clemency. Hugh Rodham returned the payments after they were disclosed to the public
